Worst Genetics Ever for Muscle Growth

You brought the comic book nerd out of me (you brought this on yourself lol), but technically, the flash can superpass Superman or really another superhuman/hero, so long as he’s remotely close to the Speed Force (the thing from which he gets his abilities/powers). The thing with that is, he’s usually never really in the realm of the Speed Force, mainly in most comics with him in it, up until you get to the issue that debuts the Speed Force.

Really if Quik Silver or even Zoom is around him, they easily kick his ass. Not to mention Superman can actually tap into the Speed frequency that the Flash operates in. Not for sustained periods of time though, but enough to put the hurt on him. The movie does a good job of showing what he does for like a few seconds, but in general, Kryptonians thrive on radiation, which I guess you can translate that to increased metabolism concerning how quickly you can move, but in general Superman probably couldn’t sustain that on Krypton while the Flash can pretty much still be quicker than an Attosecond on different planets (Krypton would probably be different since the gravitational pull is like 9x stronger than earth), but then again, Flash has the power of the Speed Force and that thing is almost equivalent to the Phoenix Force (really strong energy basically).

So it’s kind of split into advantages concerning their surroundings. Yea Superman is pretty much an all around badass, but the Flash can pretty much move almost as fast as light itself, and when he’s managed to harness the Speed Force, he can just about tap into time manipulation, which superman isn’t really immune to. The movie doesn’t go into all that for sale of time I guess. But then again, I’m weirdly interested in comic books, and no one gives a hoot about comic books anyways.

The problem is that i had long periods when i ate over 4000 calories per day. When i eat like this i gain just fat… no changes on my muscles, and i look like a skinny-fat. When i saw that i put just fat when im on caloric surplus the first thing in my mind was my training need changes. But i’ve tried all types o training without success…

Try harder. Gotta do the work, no way around it.

Even if you did have poor genetics for muscle growth, so what. You will never step on stage for a bodybuilding show or be an IG model. Not a reason to abandon a healthy lifestyle and training for a stronger, better and healthier you. Even if those are relative to you and your starting point as opposed to the general public.

I am sure I am not alone when I say that I believe lifting weights makes you a better person physically and mentally throughout your life. Stop comparing your results to others and just focus on every day, week, month, year becoming a better you. A healthy lifestyle long term under the iron will help with that, with or without sleeve popping biceps. Good luck.

I’ve searched about it. I’ve tried that type of program and it’s not working for me. And that diet is based just on protein and fat, with 0 carbs. If i do this program i will loss a lot o weight. I tried before and i know.

Your mind is closed to the possibility that you haven’t worked hard enough, for long enough at a consistent enough level at either training or nutrition. You won’t even entertain the fact that perhaps you don’t know what this level of commitment looks like.

This mindset will ultimately undermine any chance you have at success in this game. You should move onto a hobby that you find rewarding for the effort you are able to put into it rather than one that frustrates you.

Consider, in your decision about whether to pursuit this (or how you might better pursuit it) that other people have told you that your issues are genetic because that’s the easiest way to avoid having to deal with you.

well then the only other variable is your training sucks and you dont know anything about intensity. If you want accurate feedback, as people already requested, post a weeks worth of your diet log AND workouts with ALL details, weight/reps/sets, etc…

Long periods? You realize the human body might only build .5 lbs of muscle per month if you’re doing most things correctly right?

So let’s say long periods is 3 months,… you eat 4000 cals a day (likely too much), put on 1 1/2 lbs of muscle but 10 lbs of fat… so frustrated you bail out, convinced was a failure.

Now imagine you ate 3200 cals instead of 4000, that you stuck it out for 6 months instead of 3, and instead of adding an extra 10 or more lbs of pure fat, you only added 4, BUT your lbm gain is now 3 solid lbs… have you ever seen what 3 lbs of lean chopped beef looks like at the super market? Spread that around your body and tell me 3 lbs wouldn’t make a noticeable difference on a not fat physique.

Yes, it is possible to reach a point where your body has built as much muscle as it’s ever going to build. Very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very few people ever actually reach that point. And you are not one of them.

If you were gaining bodyweight but not building muscle, then either your training wasn’t properly designed for muscle growth or your protein intake was inadequate. Or both.

I’ll put money that this is what happened: You were a 5.68 foot (whatever that is) 116-pound 16-year old. Skinny, weak and wanting to put on size. You started trying to lean bulk “to put on muscle without getting fat”, saw piddly little results after two months and decided it wasn’t working, then started reading about training and spent more time in the books than in the gym and kitchen.

What little size you did gain made your friends and family start giving you more compliments about “being jacked”, maybe noticing a cool biceps vein and some better delts, so you started giving advice to anyone who asked. Because anything works in beginners, they saw results and your ego got a boost.

All the while, you’re pounding “4000+ calories a day”, which was actually just one big protein shake with milk and peanut butter along with some eggs and egg whites for breakfast, a banana with a whey shake after training, and whatever dinner was served at home. Turns out those 4000-calorie days happened about twice a month but, pfft, details.

After a few years of program-hopping, you really have tried every training method out there. For about 8 workouts each, but yep, you’ve tried them all. You even spent money on trainers, got their programs, and unconsciously sabotaged results by half-assing it during the training and continuing the inconsistent diet.

Eventually resigning yourself to the fact that the genetic cards have been stacked (becuase that’s clearly the only reason nothing’s worked so far) you ended up here looking for a comforting pat on your underdeveloped back. “Don’t worry, bro. Sometimes, that’s just the way it turns out. If you’re under 130 pounds and not building muscle, maybe you’re just not cut out for this.”

How “Proportional” is muscle gainings?

5’ 6.00947" tall, weighing 116 pounds is not a huge person. 20 pounds gained (up to 136) is like a 17% of BW increase in muscles.

If a 6’1" dude went from 197 at seventeen up to 230 at 24 years old, (a similar 17% BW gain in muscles) we would think he was doing pretty (really) good.

Does OP actually have Superior muscle building genetics?

Unfortunatlety as you can probably see, the defeatist attitude will get attacked here or any other type of forum. Ignore it. It’s mostly others either projecting, or just tired of it as this type is post is quite frequent and exhausting. I don’t think you’re a troll, just young and frustrated and looking for something other than accountability to blame. It’s easier for us to rationalize that than accept that maybe we don’t know it all or haven’t tried everything.

Everyone goes through mental hurdles, feelings of inadequacy and at times hopelessness, not just in the weight room. You seem to be in that catagory. It’s ok, but to not allow advice that is being offered isn’t, otherwise you are just looking for someone to give you confirmation to justify internally giving up. You won’t get that here. Open up instead and share the info you are guarding and I’m sure you will get actual help that will get you closer to your goal.

You’re not a snowflake. Accept the help that you asked for, put the ego aside and you’ll be surprised. Most of the guys on here straightened me out at your age. But you have to be willling to accept it.
