Working Out Shirtless

Gay, you say? Douchey, you say? Pshhhhh.

Is it ok to lift shirtless if you have enough chest and back hair to make it appear that you are wearing a shirt?

False.

Now you know there are different levels of things, right?

Yes, if you’re Arnold, or female, it’s cool.

How about those gyno titties you lug around? Bet you like to free them up from time to time.

Yeah, if your name is Robert Paulson, keep the goddamned shirt on.

His name is Robert Paulson.

Just thinking of all those Planet Fitness Youtubes-shirtless would really set off the Lunk Alerts …lol ! If one is training at home you can do what you want, but at any gym, you’d be asked to cover or leave.I work in a gym and of all the things I’ve seen, this, thank goodness, hasn’t happened yet.It just sounds childish, really.I work out in string tanks and that’s a good way to be covered and still check out that pump in the mirror. You might want to invest in some of them…

I train at home and still rarely train shirtless.

When I’m on the bench, either my skin sticks and it’s tough to get the shoulder blades to retract, or I’m too sweaty and can’t get an decent arch.

Squatting, the knurling takes off most of my skin.

Anything with a belt chafes like hell.

No fucking way I’m doing a yoke walk without a shirt.

There are a few times where it works out, but for the most part, if it’s hot, I’ll just wear a tank top.
This.

As much as I love being the gym douche, when it comes to training clothes, function>>>form every time.

I wear whatever is the lightest that gives me the best grip/least crappy feeling skin. Pretty much the only time I’ll train shirtless in public is if I’m doing farmers walks outside in the summer.

I think we should start an entire line of “stuff you should know better than needing to ask” threads:

 • My brother is having a formal wedding but I like shorts & flip-flops
 • Is it cool to wear swim trunks in the gym shower?
 • Flexing in front of the gym hottie but she isn’t responding.
 • I’m sharing sleeping quarters with a bunch of guys, is masturbating before sleep kosher?
 • I’m pretty sure my cousin gave me “the look”
 • How do I get Gammy to be cool with hookers when I visit overnight?
 • So what’s the go with shitting in the street, yay or nay?

I see there are some older threads about the topic, but it doesn’t seem possible to reply to discuss the matter further. Personally, I prefer to workout shirtless. I find it to be more comfortable, and I think it also makes me feel more virile and in tune with my body and helps me to push harder.

What did you do before supper tonight?
Please explain the weight discrepancy between 'bells.

And before supper, I worked late.

It’s tougher to do, in a way. Body’s not balanced.

I switch 'em back and forth.
Damn!
I assume walking hills and rough terrain only adds to that beneficial imbalance.

This is awesome. Couldn’t be more accurate.

Precisely! I couldn’t have said it better.

I usually always wear a stringer. When you are big as fuckkkkkk certain movements can be annoying in a sleeved cotton shirt especially when you get a pump and sweaty.
