I know what video it is without even looking at it, and I’ll say it right now;
That looks fun as hell. I’d love to train at a gym like that and God willing someday I’ll have the privilege.

Professor X, I was exaggerating with the metaphor. I do partials all the time. Since, X couldn’t see it I’ll have to explain my humor.
I guess I have a humor that I just say really absurd things, except about my pimpin’ I never joke about my pimpin’!
Partials are very affective. Do not believe me, why do power lifters pull of pins? Press off pins and single and multi boards? Why do they squat off of high boxes? Why does Kroc do partial pull ups with a 1.5 inch range? Because sometimes training the full movement is too damn taxing.
Oh boy! Preach

FUCK YEAH MOTHER FUCKER!!! LIGHT WEIGHT!!!
Is everyone now trying to be a hardcore badass by using the Ronnie light weight thing before every workout? I know people were saying that before, but now it is everywhere.[/quote]
Word has it Bauer screams “COCKSTRONG MOTHERFUCKER!” before each set.
It’s one thing to drop weights for safety purpose; it’s another thing to launch a bar across the gym (at the 25 second mark).
I’m assuming that this was only done for the video (at least I hope so); but I still can’t imagine who would enjoy seeing that done.

He’s butthurt that I’m insulting someone so roided out and obviously thinks that everybody on this site wants to look like Branch “Cave Troll” Warren. Maybe he should go slam some weights and throw some plates around, what do you guys think?

Now a good question is, did they use a more limited ROM while building themselves up or switch to one as a necessary adaptation to their size?

I honestly don’t get how most of you can see that the largest guys do often avoid the full range of motion…but it hasn’t sunk in yet that this is effective in some cases and might just be WHY they are that big. Instead, you see it as being wrong. That makes sense.
I did more full range of motion when I was a beginner. I’m not a beginner anymore and haven’t been for a long time. I know the point in a movement where my muscles are getting the most stress. I also know the exercises that working in that smaller range is actually a benefit…like some chest exercises or even side laterals.
Either way, if some guy is that much bigger than you, it helps to not assume that he did that by training “wrong”. No one gets that fucking big without having an injury that sidelines any further progress by training “wrong”.
I see more people who claim they are training right who now need surgery as a result.
can you ellaborate? id like to know which movements are better in a shorter ROM. i think certain ones must always be better with the full ROM like squats, dips, and benching. dont take this as me kissin your ass or whatever but its interesting to hear what you have to say as youre someone whos actually been through it. doesnt nesecerialy mean everything you say is true, but its good to have that other view to compare things with until i or anyone else gets there themselves.

Think box squats and board presses for examples of powerlifters using a shortened range of motion.

He’s but hurt?
I think I learned a whole bunch of new weird insults?
I also think that no-one cares as to whether you like Branch Warren or not. If the guy can flog dvds by chucking plates about so as to create a bit of interest, good for him. Perhaps he can chuck benches around next time maybe. Either way, big whoop.

Which is what it comes down to. Branch wants to be noticed. he is trying to sell dvd’s. Why is anyone even taken this that seriously?
Ronnie made his style of lifting extremely popular. While “yeah buddddyyyyy!!” may not be universal, pretty much most people half way serious in a gym know about it.
If Branch can get some attention that way, more power to him. Everyone has to stand out somehow…not mention they don’t give a shit at that gym.

Oh my god. You are a fucking idiot. No one threatened you, so dont be a big whiny bitch compaigning for support on hte forum. What? Cant fight your own battles on a forum?
I never said that everyone here wanted to look like Branch Warren. But you are just ignorant when you come onto a bodybuilding forum complaining about a professional bodybuilder and that makes you pathetic. Come on boy, school me. Show me that you have it all figured out and someone like Branch Warren is doing everything wrong.
You want to talk about “tough guy”, haha say this shit to Branch Warren’s face. Then I guess we’ll see who the internet tough really is.

I don’t think he came off as a tough guy at all. He just called you out on your ignorant post. I’m sure more people on this site want to look like Branch than want to look like you.
And, for the record, I was entertained by the video. I also would love for just one day to throw bars and weights all over the gym for the hell of it.
Awful video, guy appears to be as intelligent as he is healthy. Do people actually want to emulate his physique? I know I don’t. Does anyone actually train this way? Has common sense been lost when it comes to training?
And throwing the weights around the gym, I hope this was just for the video and not how he conducts himself in real life.
These guys use a limited ROM because they are grossly overgrown and bloated making full ROM movements uncomfortable, kind of like what happens when people get really fat and lose mobility, most of these bloated bodybuilders tend to waddle as apposed to walk as well, athletes? Lol.

in other words, results matter?

Every mother fucker here that’s ranting about the video or declaring partials as crap are the some of the smallest on this site.
I find that funny.

Wow. On a bodybuilding forum, the guys who actually build some muscle tend to gain more praise than those who haven’t, even in videos.
If I was going to listen to how to train, it would not be from the guy who hadn’t built much size yet.
I do partials on some movements. There is also nothing wrong with it…because it works.

I recently changed gyms from the local Y,where I was really one of a few who lifted), to LA Fitness. One of the things I noticed was really big dudes using very restricted ROM. My first reaction was “That’s way too much weight. Maybe if they took off 50 lbs they’d be able to do a full rep.” It did sink in, though, that their goals aren’t the same as mine. They wanna get fucking huge, and apparently focusing more on TUT is working for them.

Errrrrrrrm?
Unless I missed the memo where the goal of bodybuilding was to NOT build bigger muscles, then yes, bigger is better.
Perhaps you could enlighten us as to what the purpose of lifting weights is, if not to get bigger? It sure as hell isn’t just to promote straining or to practice sweating.
I could do that from eating a curry.
