Simply put, if anti-American sentiment is at an all time high, then the rest of the world is wrong. We are going to root out terroism no matter how uncomfortable that makes the rest of the world. Give your brain a chance, you will benefit from our destruction of terrorism. We are a benevolent people. For instance, we are not going to conquer any new territory. We are not going to subjugate any populations. We are going to feed our former enemies. We are going to speed economic aid to the poor. In short, we are going to do the right thing, look good, and laugh off your enmity.
Well, Third Eye, I looked it up and found you were correct, damn it. Canada is the United States’ largest trading partner. I apologize. England owns the most businesses in the United States. I will keep a vengeful eye on your posts and pounce on any opportunity to even the score. Happy posting!
The reason why people hate America is not because of America’s war on terrorism. It is because of America’s support for Israel. That is a fact. But yes, you are right that America’s war on terrorism does benefit everybody. Ironically, it even benefits Arabs, because if a widespread biological attack were to occur, the bacteria or virus would not differentiate from an American or Arab. Not only that, but the Sept. 11 hijackers obviously didn’t hesitate to kill the hundreds of Muslims in the World Trade Center towers.
If anybody looked at the Israeli situation and the Palestinian situation from a humanitarian point of view, he or she would agree that Palestinian civilians are clearly suffering more than Israeli civilians. If you don’t believe me visit the Middle East and live with both sides. Then you will agree.
While I agree with bus driver, I think this whole situation is going to be small potatoes shortly when India and Pakistan start nukin each other. I think it’s quite incredible that this powder keg situation is not being taken more seriously by the rest of the world. This situation needs help with peace negotiations probably more so than any where else. I really believe this part of the world is on the brink of becoming a huge parking lot.
bus driver u are one ignorant loudmouth whose arrogance is baffling.U claim to know this and that bt your skewed views serve to do nothing but intensify the level of ignorance and stupidity you choose to portray.its because of self righteous imbeciles like yourself that theres the mideast conflicts as well as the drama between india n pakistan
I cannot believe how many uneducated people post stuff here with opinions on everything yet, do not know history or have lived (or even spent a real duration of time) in Israel. It is amazing to me that one could have such a want for knowledge when it comes to training or supplements, yet not know politics, world history or even how the media skews it to their own liking (see Bernie’s book BIAS). Perhaps, the Darwian theory of survival of the fitest is being proven true right here on these boards.
Believe it or not, there are actually two different definitions to “living in Israel”: First, living in Israeli communities that are economically thriving. Second, living in Palestinian refugee camps that are worn out and crumbling. Where are you referring to?
Who is talking about anti-American sentiment in Europe? What about the Right-Wing anti-immigration/Muslim movement that is popular now? Arab and North African Muslims have ruined so many European countries now, the people are sick of them-England, Spain, France, Germany, Netherlands and even Scandanavia. I would say most people, in fact the vast majority of people, in Europe are pro-American.
Here in Australia there is a similar feeling, with the only opposing voice coming from left wing loonies. This is the new cold war-so you’d better pick a side. I would stand behind Israel and the US 100%. British Man, if you are Anglo-Celtic then you should be ashamed of yourself. If you’re not, then shut the fuck up because you have no right to call yourself British.
Madman, you claim that I’m the ignorant loudmouth whose ignorance is baffling. Perhaps you can explain why, preferably using some facts, instead of making accusations whose intelligence rivals that of a 6 year old’s (barely).
The question you ask is not a well thought out one. We are all responsible for our lots in life. To some degree, you get a hand that life gives you and than you make the best of it, learn how to change that hand or wallow in it. Repeatedly since 1947 the "Palestinian’s have been offered land for a country, from Britian (who ruled Palestine from 1907 or so till 1948), the UN in 1947 and Israel in 1994, 1999 and 2000. They have repeatdely turned down those offers. Prior to 1947 there was NO Palestianina people in a struggle for their homeland (it was ruled by Britian), prior to that it was ruled by the Ottoman empire (read–Turkey). Arafat’s people are the one’s that chose not to become Israeli after the 1948 war and where Jordon (Transjordon), Egypt, Syria and Iraq refused enveloping/immigration of them. The Palestinian’s have been somewhat governed by the UN since 1948 and choose to work in the Israeli state, which was pure desert prior to 1948 and cultivated into livable land with viable farms, agriculture, winaries and so on. The "Palestinian’s have done NOTHING with their territories nor have they even tried to build there own economy. They could easily “suceed” as Texas has tried in the US and declare their own state, but with no (purposeful by Arafat in order to declare martydom)economy or real job market even with the hundreds of millions given to them by the US, the EU, Israel and some Arab states (though most Arab states do not give $, but rather arms) it has not trickled down from the leadership to the people. I have been in the territories and in Israeli cities. I have been subject to some interesting circumstances as an American in the territories were it was my life or someone else’s (a situation thankfully easily worked out for both to survive). Be a student of history before you espouse to give judgement.
I happen to be an American who was born in Israel and moved to the US when I was 10. I grew up in NJ, college at Miami (Go Canes!) and I now live and work in New York City. I have become very jaded in past two years. My ideas of what is right and wrong, of peace, and of the future of our planet have been dashed. As I was walking to work with my roomate one sunny Tuesday morning, I saw something that would change my impression of the Muslim world forever. I saw something that I never experienced in Israel, but unfortunatly I couldn’t escape it as terrorism struck a fatal blow. On 9/11 I saw two planes hit the WTC, I saw on TV the madness and destruction caused and heard about the loss of many friends. Then I heard that they (the terrorists) came from Saudi Arabia and who was behind thier madness. I’ve helped as much as I could with the healing and cleaning process as many of us New Yorkers have done. My heart goes out to the people of Israel and to their cause. Their cause is our cause. They are on the front lines of democracy, liberal ideals, and social progress. And against them are the dictators of the arab world, hiding under the guise of religion, and using poverty and force to hold their own people down. Israel should use all the means at their disposal to ensure their survival. Those that use terrorism as their struggle will in end be accountable for their actions with God and he is not as forgiving as we think! And those that would soon acquise to the terrorist demands (Europe and East Asia) will soon find themselves at the wrong end of the battle.
A troubling question is why terrorists (the PLO) were ever recognized by the US or anyone as being a legitimate body of any sort. Arafat
et al should have been put to death long ago.
Remember the almost constant airline hijackings of the 1970s? That was the PLO and Arafat. Why was that forgotten and Arafat ever treated like a “statesman” and the Palestinian Authority like a legitimate government?
So the Palestinians were offered to have their own country in 1947, eh? That’s like coming into my house and “offering” me half of it. What a joke. There were practically no Jews in Palestine in 1800. After “massive” immigration, they numbered 7% of the population in 1948 when they were given half the land. The Jewish claim to the land is based on the fact that they ruled the region 2000 years ago for about 300 years. The region had been thoroughly Arab since the 600’s. The Brits fucked up and now we are all paying for it.
The jews didn’t take over “Palestine.” They reclaimed Israel. The UN gave the arabs Jordan. Palestine is now divided amongst many countries. Syria, Jordan. The jews lived in Israel which was in a general area called Palestine. How long have Arabs ruled Israel in the past? Let me get this straight you fault the Jews for doing what the egyptians, syrians, jordanians (ooops, I meant “palestinians”) are doing? The Jews rationalization was that they reclaimed their land. Which is what the Palestinians are now claiming. Why are the “Palestinians” not exploding their daughters in Jordan’s deli’s and Malls? Don’t they need to reclaim that land too? Syria? Why only Israel? Why are they only attempting to reclaim land from Israel? Is it cause they can’t stand the thought that Jews might be living next door? Here’s a thought, next time they’re offered 97% of what they’re asking for, take it. Stop spending money on illegal weapons from your Arab neighbors, stop spending money strapping bombs to kids, and maybe start acting a little like a civilized human being. Perhaps in a few years Israel would trust them more to be peaceful and begin a the process of releasing land. But, if they’re going to turn down that kind of deal and start using their own kids to blow up buses, shopping malls, discos, delis, etc…I think I’d be reluctant to give up that land and allow them to set up an army too. One more suicide attack and Israel should drive them completely off the land into neighboring Arab countries.
it is apparent that reasoning mit you would not be sensible and a waste of time as you have a preconceived albeit dogmatic idea of who the victims and the agressors are mr bus driver.Evidently this 13 yearold with the mind of a six year old as you so elequoently put it has i think a etter perspective and understanding of the situation than what your feeble, hate drenched biased mind can ever seem to comprehend.Yeah and for your information I am not a Palestinian and i do not support their self detonation and i am not Israeli and i do not support their incursions into Palestinian held territories. It is rather apparent that what is happening here is there is 2 sides of the story( BUS DRIVER u do understand this term dont you )and if you were to juxtapose accounts from both sides, you would get completely different accounts but the fact of the matter is Arafat has no power to stop this wave of suicide bombings even if he wanted to and Sharon well whats there to say about a fella whose forte is mass massacre and you think he wants to stop the war?Time to open up your mind BUS Driver so that you dont have to rely upon a 13 year old like myself to put things into perspective for you–you do understand wha i am insinuating dont you or do you need me to break it down to the thought processing capabilities of a six year old.
Madman, once again you have shown your stupidity. You have to understand that when you want to make a point, you need to use facts. Perhaps your 7th grade english teacher is impressed by your vast and impressive vocabulary, but it doesn’t mean shit here. So please, next time, say something to the point, or shut up.
Hey Poindexter, how does ruling an area for 300 years 2000 years ago qualify at “reclaiming?” Who are the religious fanatics here? That’s right, the period of the Israelites ruling over what is now Israel and Palestine was but a brief moment in time AND they were one of many different peoples to have conquered the region, so stop with this bullshit about “reclaiming.” Your religion is showing.
So sonny you’re thirteen, huh? I must congradulate you on you’re use of a Thesaurus. Some advice try using a spell check next time also. Why don’t you try offering your opinion to a solution? Instead of trying to talk down to someone else. You’ve offered absolutly nothing except criticizm.
I guess hyok, you see a jew around every corner. Sorry, but I have no religious connection to the conflicet. Are you ASSuming I’m Jewish? I guess you also see the palestinians as fanatics than? After all, they also claim to want to reclaim the land. By the way if you want a more recent Jewish Authority over Isreal than the far past, the present will do. They’re there to stay.
