If Isreal can’t stop terrorist bombing with perhaps the tighest security and most swift retaliation in the world…what chance does a huge, open society like ours have? Have we not been attacked simply because the Terror Cells are “laying low” waiting for another “Big Bang?” Can you really “stop” people who are willing to die?
the only 100% answer that i could think of would be a Nazi society in which whites are the only race and no religion exists. If you get rid of all Muslims then you get rid of all muslim extremists. Of course this would no longer really be America as a result
I think it can be done, but the solution ain’t pretty. You simply have to make it too “expensive” to be a terrorist. That means kill all the terrorists, kill their supporters, and kill everybody who profits from their actions, including their families, right down to the children. No questions, no trials, just excise them from humanity like a surgeon excises cancer from a body. Who’s got the guts to embark on a campaign like this? (Besides maybe Klingons?)
Actually I think the British accomplished this with the Thuggees in India. Wiped them out completely. And there’s a story that the Soviets once did something like this to some terrorists who were holding Soviets captives. Supposedly the Soviets showed the terrorists the deapitated heads of all their family members as incentive to release the hostages. When the hostages were released, then they killed the terrorists as well.
The Soviet incident was in Lebanon, in response to the kidnapping of one of their embassy employees. They identified as many of the ring as they could and executed their families. They lost their guy, but they also had no more kidnappings. (At least, that is the story I got)Sometimes these things become legends that grow in the telling. Sadly, there is no way to be 100% sure that we’re safe, save for killing all “would-be terrorists”, and who wants to live in an Orwellian nightmare like that? It’s really so far gone that I don’t know if we can back-pedal far enough. Even if we had tried to nip this thing in the bud years ago, we wouldn’t have gotten the necessary support from the rest of the world to do it right.
I think yorik is 100% correct. After a suicide bombing, find the identnity of the bomber. Go to his town. Execute every member of his family, regardless of age or gender. The bombings would either stop immediately or they would run out of bombers…

That is what I am saying…I have always thought that the best way to deter hanius crime was to torture the family that spawned the little shit in the first place. It is pretty safe to say that if your kid grows up to kill hords of people you should not have any more kids, nor should you be allowed to live in my our world.
Genocide simply won’t work. The closest thing that came to it on a large scale was the holocaust. Which considering what it did, was a highly functional machine within a strong dicatorship, with plenty of money to spend on the “war effort.” And although highly effective it still failed to wipe out the Jewish people.
I don’t know what the propaganda of the Nazi was, but I wonder whether it had the same patriotism of the War against Terror. I do know that one of the arguments used to silence detractors of the Nazi party was that they were Anti-German!
Now if you lump all Muslims into one group and call them the enemy, how are you going to defeat them? Muslim people are spread across the world, some of them might take offence to having their race erased.
As for Mufasa’s orginial question, you’ve got to have much tighter security. Screw PC and just get on with proper profiling of all visiting indivuals. Remove the Jewish Settlements and set up a Palestinian state, whilst stimultaneously build a border wall a few stories high around Israel’s borders. Shoot anyone that comes within a 1000m of it! Leave it all for a few years of isolation and hopefully they sort themselves out with their own devices!
I agree with all of the proposals in this thread. Unfortunately, I feel we should erase the genetic pattern of these third world individuals from the planet. Rather than wait for them to strike, just go over there and eliminate them. If one bomber kills 10, immedeately kill 1000 of theirs, and so on and so on. Begin pulling them out of their homes over here. Use blood tests to vairfy genetic relation. Everybody who is of the same decent that lives in this country, has to leave or be executed. Yeah I know it sounds terrible, but what else is there. Havent any of you been in a situation where “sombody ruined it for the whole group” This is the same situation. Let’s take this a step further and eradicate all uncontrolled violence in our society. If a person commits a violent crime then the perpetrators family (the one’s who raised this person to be a criminal) suffer the same fate whether it be assault, rape or murder regardless of age or gender. Asburd I know, but until the whole wealth and quality of life issues get sorted out globally, terrorism will have a means to grow. And as should be obvious the potential for terrorist group to inflict severe, multiple of thousands, casualties is only growing stronger.
On a more optimistic note, whilst Palestinian militants were killing Jewish settlers, the IRA made a formal apology to the civilian victims and their families over the last thirty years of war. While it’s by no means an ending, people can take heart that eventually all bitter resentments can come to the end. And talking, understanding and compromise IS THE ONLY WAY forward for such conflicts.
This discussion is a very very interesting one, and, as you might be able to guess, it’s one of the most popular topics of discussion. As you can probably guess, there is no easy or “humane” ways to stop terrorists, and definitely not suicide bombers. Before I say the rest, let me tell you how the Bedouhin people function (they’re pretty similar to the arabs, but many of them live in Israel, and some even serve in the army). Under their code of honor, if a person from one family kills someone from a different family, the family of the killed one automatically attempts to kill the murderer. Now, the family of the person who was killed in retaliation wants to retaliate THEMSELVES, therefore they kill the person who killed their son. As expected, the other family retaliates. This, in some cases, goes on for literally hundreds of years. Just something to think about.
Before I go on to say what I think should be done to the suicide bombers, I need to first give my political opinion. First of all, I believe that all the settlements should be abandoned. Even though I am Israeli, I’ll give you a little scoop (I don’t want to hear any assholes call me biased now). The people who are living in the settlements are ultra right party people, but what seperates them from me is that they are also religious fanatics. 99.99% of the Israeli citizens will never EVER visit the settlements behind the “green line”. These people, in my opinion, are just as big a problem as the arabs.
So, I propose to clean out all settlements, BUT, and this is important, if the Palestenians ever attack again (and trust me, they will. They want the complete destruction of Israel, nothing less.), they should be seriously fucked up. This will have to be written in the contract signed between the two parties, so they have no ground on which to argue and cry and bitch. After all, they agreed to this.
As far as killing the suicide bombers’ families, I agree with this completely. The terrorists’ families are not clueless about their children’s activities, they infact encourage them. In addition, they are paid $20,000 by Iraq and Iran. When they accept this money, it means to me that they are basking in the blood of innocents murdered, and that they are happy for what happened. These assholes should be shiskababed and hung in Ramala for all to see.
This situation is very complex, and there’s no clear solution to it. It’s different in every instace.
About the suicide bombers in Isreal, I understand that their families are being paid, but I wonder if it is possable that they are being threatened also. Someone tells them you can die with honor and have your family taken care of, or you can not do this and we will kill you and your whole family. Just a thought.
Ok …so after you kill the extremists that actually care about their families, what would you do about the extreme extremists that either care about a cause enough to sacrifice their families….or those who don’t have any family? There really is nothing you can do about them huh? And in the process we would have stooped to the same level as the animals we are trying to get rid of…you dumb fucks!!! It’s amazing how some people will take an idea they don’t like and try to relate it to a totally different idea that everybody hates. To equate the killing of terrorists with genocide is, frankly, asinine. The two are totally unrelated. Genocide is the practice of eliminating a race of people simply because they are that race. Killing a terrorist and his/her beneficiaries is an act of punishment for very specific behavior. No relationship whatsoever.
As for talking it all out and negotiating, I think people who suggest that need to review their history books. The only time treaties work is at the END of war, once one side has been defeated. Have any treaties designed to prevent war ever done more than give the aggressor time to prepare?
Frankly, I think we should consider this position: Whenever a person becomes a threat to the survival of humanity, then that person should be excised from humanity. They have become a cancer on society. Cut out the cancer like a surgeon. Period. Survival ain’t always pretty.
