From a skill standpoint, you’re absolutely right. A SEAL would absolutely ruin my shit hand-to-hand, but a world class fighter would absolutely ruin his shit.
The one equalizer is that you may find the SEAL is more willing to blind, maim, or kill than the world class fighter. Not more able, but less likely to hesitate should the opportunity present itself.
A SEAL would kill him in a jungle maybe, because he might slash him in the throat or something. Hand to hand though, out in the open, no weapons, fight to the death? I know who I’d bet on.
Pride heavyweight division pisses all over the UFC’s who have basically Mir and Arlovski, neither of which would be in the top 3 in Pride. Nog, Cro Cop and fedor would dominate these guys. That said I think the UFC’s light heavy div. is better. It has more depth with Chuck, Randy, Tito (well not anymore)and Vitor. Can’t imagine any of them beating Wandy though, he is one badass mofo. I don’t care if Tito beat him in the past he couldn’t hang now. Not a chance. I think Wandy could beat most heavyweights, in fact I think he could be UFC heavyweight champion if he was in the UFC.
BJ Penn>Matt Hughes btw. Not by much, I would love to have seen a rematch, I mean I really hope it does happen but I think Penn’s domination was no fluke. He is the man in his weight class. awesome.
Overall Pride is definately better than the UFC. UFC is catching though and I really wish there were more joint events. The interest would be MASSIVE I mean Chuck Wandy anyone?

And I’m not saying that your boy Amir isn’t a baddass, but just because he was a super cool army guy who knows “leathal” techniques means nothing. That’s what the first UFC’s showed us that it’s not what techniques you know, but which ones you can use against a real opponent.
Anmir trains top UFC fighters. I’m willing to bet he can go when the stakes are for life against any opponent… it’s all “bench” fighting anyway.
Cheers!

Well so far he hasnt proven it against the best yet so the only champions are those in Pride, UFC & KOTC. They can fight dirty too and are elite athletes, best of the best. Maybe that counts for more than a lot of what we are discussing. For examnple Anthony Mundine was a footballer who won a world boxing title within 3 years of quitting Rugby. His athletic prowass obviously counted for more than the scores of years boxing experience his opponenhts have over him.
fedor would beat all of them, he`s better at stand up than arlovski, better on the ground and bigger, fedor by TKO stoppage round 2.
