Who Here Can DL Over 700 Raw?

Pulled over 700 twice in comp weighing 210, in the gym a hand full of times weighing 205. Sorry, I know you asked if anyone can do it at 90kg. I really messed up this thread.[/quote]

700 @90kg is equal (in coefficient at least) to a 800 pull @SHW… valid hijack in my opinion.

  • ‘Who knows some hyooge dude at your gym who can DL 700?’
  • ‘Who wants to share their dreams of DL’ing 700?’ “No really man, I’m at 570 but should be at 700 in about 3 months.”

I cant DL 700 but some guy at my gym can. I think his name is ed? am i doing this right?

I will never pull 700 (too old and too small) but I think it is right up there with the 1000lb squat. I think anyone who can do either is really friggin strong.

Yes, well done. Although you could throw in a few excuses that displaces the blame. Something like your gym never has enough plates available, otherwise you’d totally be there.

Indeed it is dude. Just over a year ago.

I think a more interesting thread would be:

“How did you get your raw deadlift over 700lbs?”

Totally agree and vote that you should start it with a change in the title to “How I got my raw deadlift over 700 pounds.”

my 1.3 cents:

  1. RAW = belt only

  2. ANYBODY in the vicinity of 200lbs should be able to pull 500 within a year or so with hard consistent smart training. I got there just out of HS 18 years old in my first meet.

  3. 600 comes quite a bit slower than 500, but still very doable if you put in the work. at this level you are respectable, but by no means impressive. by that i mean those who are a dedicated strength athlete. an elite level ball player who can also pull 600 is still a stud, but for a competitive strongman, PL, OL, etc., your just average.

  4. 700? now you are in the game. a member of a pretty exclusive club whose members are pretty much studs. sad to say, i got fairly close to being part of this club, but never made it and prolly never will :frowning:

    1. you are elite/world class
    1. andy bolton or konstantine. thats pretty much it. nuff said.

Ill never forget something louis simmons said :

" I watch the big deadlifts when it comes to following who is REALLY strong in the iron game. the equipment helps so much in the squat and bench it sometimes is hard to quantify. The guys with the big deadlifts? THOSE are the guys you dont want to meet in a dark alley"!

I lol’d

Why are you leaving out the world record holder in the raw DL heavythrower? :stuck_out_tongue:

gary heisy?

I think this thread is a real reality check … would be good to hear about how long it took those lucky few and how they did it?

Benedikt. KK is definitely good though and worth mentioning because he comes really close to the current record holders at less bodyweight.

Used to train with a guy that pulled 805 in the IPF. I should get back in touch with him. Though this was back when he was lifting @ about 320. I have a vid I took of him pulling an easy 695 @ about 260 BW though. (it was a warm up meet for NOTLD a while back.

Found the video.

Since my edit disappeared:

I know this is single ply but I have seen him pull over 700 in just a belt in training.

I can’t lift 700 yet LOL I bench liek 115 and weight 130lbs but I don’t work out I only skate and do BMX LOL

I saw a guy in Wal-Mart one day that was HYOOOGE!!! He doesn’t workout in my gym but he looked like he could DL 700. I don’t know his name but he was COLOSSAL!!! I’ll bet he can deadlift 700. I’ll get a vid of him at Wal-Mart next time I see him. Maybe I’ll talk to him as well and ask him if he can DL 700. Is that right?

Wal-mart? Just because someone weighs 700lbs doesn’t mean they can DL it.

I wonder. That must depend if he uses one of those mini-cars or is diligent with his walking. Then surely he will reap the rewards of his efforts and be able to pull 700.

He rides that cart all the time. I’m thinking he does it to save his energy for big pulls. And I’m pretty sure he pulls sumo since he couldn’t touch his feet together if he wanted to because of his HYOOOOGE thighs.
