the Buff is very good for the price.

what was your first whiskey or bourbon? mine was a classic. sourmash bourbon since 1835 and surprisingly good, Old Crow!

blanton’s which is pretty good and comes in a sweet bottle, and then the angel envy’s after that, I really recommend the rhy version if you like marshmellows or egg nog a really unique one for sure I also got into some of the Leopold bros stuff, they’re trying to do young whiskeys as sort of a throwback to older types, interesting to say the least, This fall I’m for sure keeping my eyes out for some of the antique collection and pappy’s. Any recommendations on really good scotch? What’s the highest quality that’s readily available?

Special occasions. Very pricey, though. About $140/bottle.

I have a nice whiskey collection but JD is really all I drink, plus some Midleton’s on very special occasions.

Other whiskeys I like:
Knob Creek
JW Blue
Crown Royal
Hennessey

Whiskeys not to buy:
Makers Mark
JD Single Barrel
Anything Canadian
Makers Mark (I really don’t like it)

Nards - I agree with you on the reviews. Some of these people either have retardedly refined palates to taste all that stuff or just want to sound classy. Either I like a whiskey or I don’t, none of that fruity, oak tasting bullshit.
Hennessy is not a whiskey

Buffalo Trace…one of my favorite Bourbons and a good value.

Jack and Jim but that doesn’t really count because those were mixed drinks. About 7 months ago I started drinking all my whisky/whiskey neat. No ice …no water. Woodford was the 1st one I really liked.

if it’s mixed with soda, or is a sweet blended, it will make me so sick I’ll try to throw up my toenails.
forgot to add I was 12 when I was told that I was old enough to learn how to drink whiskey. back then it was no big deal. kinda like being told you’re old enough to go hunting by yourself.
it’s either straight at rm temp or a few drops of water to let it loose.

oh yeah!

X4 to BT. I’ve kinda settled into it as my goto due to the good taste and low price.

same here I tried ice and adding water but I didn’t like it, I drink it the same way I drink coffee/tea straight with nothing added

That was a great link. I want all of it so much. I even like the idea of the clear whiskey.

Dude, that post was 3 years ago. I’ve come a long way since then.

I don’t even like CR or Henessy anymore, and quite frankly JW Blue is overrated as well. I still really like Knob Creek, though.

That site has some really cool gear…and whiskey. I seen the Redbreast 21 and thought of push harder. I remember he likes Redbreast.

Whiskey? Now that’s a bloody good idea. Whiskey O, Jonny O, etc…
Anyone for laphroaig? I’ve got a shot of it with me here and it’s sort of… …well, it tastes of peat bogs and violence. Any fellow laphroaig addicts here?

Went through 2 bottles last month. It is by far my favorite. Have not tried Lagavulin yet though. Love the peat man!!!

Hell yes- you’ve just got to love whiskey that tastes like where it comes from says I.

I AM a happy man.

Dear ol’ bosom buddy Lanky done sent me a bottle of Four Roses Single Barrel bourbon

and

five fine cigars

all of it packed

in a Playboy centerfold.

Could a guy have it any better than me? Not a chance!

I’m very thankful.
