I’m in NY for the next several days and I always make it a point to stop in spirit shops outside of PA as the selection is typically pretty different. Anyone ever try any of the following? None of these are typically available in PA.

He’s never steered me wrong so far. Anyone try the Old Overholts?

Funny, just yesterday I saw that Japanese companies whisky in my Costco. Expensive stuff.

Anyone had Blantons bourbon? I had some on the rocks the other night and it’s my favorite bourbon so far. Granted, I’d hardly call myself well versed in whiskey, but I loved it.

I’ve had a couple bottles of it and have a couple more unopened. It’s really good. I wouldn’t put it among my favorites but I always seem to have a bottle on hand.
Excellent, thanks. Do you happen to have any recommendations of something similar?
For a better value ($30/bottle) and honestly, IMO, a better whiskey, try Elmer T. Lee (sounding like a broken record as I’ve recommended it a few times in this thread). Angel’s Envy, Buffalo Trace and Woodford Reserve also come to mind as they are all on the sweeter side like Blanton’s.

You’re the man, Lanky! Thanks!
And I’ve never seen this before. Not sure if it’s any good but I thought it was a cool collectors item - Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Select.

Definitely picking up the Rittenhouse Rye based on this guy’s review:

I’ve had a tumbler or two of the Rittenhouse and remember it being pretty good.
I may have had the O.O. but can’t remember. I probably did when I visited my favorite bar in Seattle, the one with the inventory of ~180 different bottles of whiskey.
Thanks, and feel free to keep posting what you’re drinking out of that place!
This is probably my favorite thread on T-Nation so thanks to everyone for contributing!
(except sen say, who can’t help but comment on non-whiskey alchohol, that loser)

Interesting. I like like a few of suntory’s whiskeys. Good quality for the price.

Taste is just fine.
Bought this “specialty” item for my collection some time ago. The whisky comes in a fancy box with a registration card inside. The registration card was missing from my initial purchase, so the box/bottle package was returned to the liquor store and a “complete” package was then provided.
Per the store management some employees remove the registration card for their personal benefit. As a collector, an “incomplete package” purchase will severely hinder any appreciation value to a subsequent buyer.
Has anyone tried Collingwood? There was some at the store but when I decided that would be my next purchase, it was gone, and now I cant find it anywhere

Does that mean you’re officially done with Booker’s? ![]()

I’m hoping that this somehow makes Booker’s and Baker’s and Basil Hayden’s easier to find in Taiwan. Fingers crossed.

Not sure what shipping would be, but I’d buy some bottles here and ship to you if it made it easier for ya. I wouldn’t want location to stifle anyone from drinking their whiskey!
Edit - no love for Knob Creek? Probably my favorite of the bunch.
Had an angels envy manhattan straight up with dinner tonight aaaaaaaand it was amazing.

I’ve found Booker’s here and have had three bottles in the last year or so but that Kirkland brand is just perfect for me. A whole liter for only $18US! I have three on my shelf for emergencies…but thank you so much for your kind offer. You’re one of the good guys I think.
There are def some good guys on this thread. Weird but I’d rather discuss whiskey/whisky with you guys then talk about training anyday. BTW had some Laphroaig today. It was awesome. Tried this a while ago before I tried any Islay whiskys and it was a bit much. Went through a bottle of Bowmore since then. It must have prepared me because it instantly tasted like home. Anybody that wants to try any of the peat bomb scotches like Laphroaig or Ardbeg I highly suggest Bowmore to bridge the gap. Believe me there IS a HUGE gap between a Talisker and a bomb like Laphroaig. I’m happy that my bottle of Laphroaig will now, not go to waste!!!cheers

From now on
