Which Routine to Choose

English is my second language so I’ll do my best.

I’ve been training for almost 2 years and made good improvement but my body stoped growing since few months also weights are not increasing like before.

The problem is that in my gym they advice most of the players to train each muscle twice a week which I’m doing since last 2 years, it gives great pump for the whole week and it adds strength and my weights just go high, specially that I’m doing bench, deadlifts and squats almost 2 times a week.

I read a’lot from this website and other that I should train for only 4 days a week and each muscle once. I did try training each muscle a day but my weights went low and felt that I lost a’lot of strength. I train about 6 times a week something like: chest+ biceps, back+triceps , shoulders and legs then rest then repeat again. This might sound too much but I only do it because my weights would go up and I can go to the gym every day since I have a’lot of free time out of college now. I read about Bill Starr 5x5 workout but the problem is that it’s only 3 times a week and u only do Squats,Bench, Deadlift which like doing only 3 exercises per day. I just feel that I can go for a’lot more and I like my training to me very intense and love to push to my limits.

Any ideas on which routine to choose that utleast I can go to the Gym 5 days a week?
Goal: Strength, lift heavier weights, then add muscle

Sorry if my English is too bad

Your english is a lot better than some of the native english speakers we see come onto this website. haha

Your problem is your diet. If your body has stopped growing along with all of your lifts going not going up, it means you aren’t eating enough!

I don’t really have a problem with my diet it’s just choosing the right routine. Any ideas about doing one muscle every day, for example: chest then back then legs and so on?

LOL listen, if you aren’t gaining bodyweight, then YOU OBVIOUSLY DO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH YOUR DIET.

hate to break it to you.

Remember you don’t build strength/size in the gym, you build it with a bed and fork so lifting 5-6 times a week may be the problem, you could need more rest?

Humor us, what do you eat and when?

I would have to agree with the previous two posts. If you aren’t eating enough, then it’s going to be unrealistic to expect muscle gains and increases in the weights you move.

Let some of these guys help you with your diet and your problem should hopefully be solved.

You may be over-training. If you push yourself to the limit four times a week, your body only has time to repair itself.
