So I just got an email from a supplement supplier and it states about an increase in whey protein prices.
Does anybody know what the problem is with the whey supplies and how much it will affect prices?
The price of corn is going up due to the ethanol craze, so the price of cattle feed is going up. The winter spate of severe weather killed off some dairy cattle which moved the available supply lower.
The price of all dairy is going up so it’s not suprising that whey is up also.
I noticed this shit too. Almost 2 dollars a pound for some brands…

Bad drought and supply from New Zealand very low thats where China gets all theirs and now they have to come to us the supply is limited, im hearing highest ever possibly double the price of usual

How is this going to affect Biotest’s protein supps?
A 5 lb tub of whey that cost me about $27 a couple months ago today costs $46 at an online retailer. That’s a 70% price increase. Insane!
