Where Do Clean and Presses Fit In?

I’m thinking of adding clean and presses from the hang to my current program and was wondering where they would best fit. My current program is:
Saturday- 531 press, 5x10 push ups
Sunday- 531 deadlift, 5x10 Zercher squat
Tuesday- 531 bench press, 5x10 btn press
Wednesday- 531 squat, 5x10 Dorian deadlift

There’s some other assistance work mixed in for biceps, triceps and traps as well.

You should probably ask Jim Wendler in his forum since it looks like you are doing 531. I think he generally likes it as a “warm up” for the deadlift or even the squat.

He has plenty of templates with that move in (531 beach body for a single example)

If it’s from the hang, then it would be better placed on the overhead press day.

Yes a power clean can be used as an activation prior to deadlifting, but a hang power clean is a little less effective at that, and there is the press part. If you just did overhead press saturday, doing clean & press sunday isn’t a great idea.Although in an ideal world, if you put the hang clean and press on Saturday you would train the squat on Sunday and put the deadift on Wednesday.
