When to Bail on a Squat in Comp?

First of all, this is bailing on a squat:

Knowing you’re not going to get it and asking for help is not bailing. It’s quitting.

In my opinion, you don’t give up on a lift unless you get into a really bad groove. And the only excuse for literally bailing and dumping the bar is if something pops and you start to go down, a la Ed Coan:
