sorry to read this. hope you find resolution quickly.
That is where my mind went too. That, or a strain. I will watch the recovery, of course my deadlift weight doesnāt warrant an injury like yours does!
Will you stop stealing all the PRās and leave some for the rest of us please.

Did better on protein this week.
Weight going up was expected, but, a smaller increase than anticipated. Ate a bit more Friday and Saturday, and my activity level dropped. I am still surprised I dropped 5lbs two weeks ago and have basically kept it down.
No training has been done since Wednesday. My back is getting better every day. Any bending still sends shooting pain up my back and down my right leg. Putting on socks and pants takes a lot of careful maneuvering! Hubby requested I stay away from the gym until it gets better, he has more sense than I do.
This week is a planned deload, so that is silver lining timing. I might get in conditioning depending on how picking things up is feeling. Or I will just run. Running doesnāt hurt after the first few steps. Wednesday we head into the backcountry for Thanksgiving weekend. Super excited about a long weekend trip!
Iām on the hunt for a kettlebell. 10k swing challenge is on the docket between the holidays. It fits perfectly and it seems like I could use a short barbell break.
Hell yeah!
Thought you might like that! @T3hPwnisher suggested it a few weeks ago. I really donāt need to plan my training, I can just hop on whatever training wagon you two are on/suggest. Well, toned down for a sane person of course ![]()
Tuesday
1.75mi hilly run, 23 minutes
Pushups - 50
Wanted something quick to get the blood flowing so I could stretch. Amazing that running doesnāt anger my back, but any sort of bending does. It is getting better everyday, just not as quickly as I would like. Hoping for 80-90% better by Monday for the swing challange, though, swings may help it.
Snagged a KB on an early Black Friday sale for $1/lb. Set to arrive tomorrow!
Tuesday PM
Pull ups - 3x3
OH Press
5 x 50
5 x 55
5 x 65
10 x 5 x 50
Prowler:
3 x 200 ft push
135 + Sled
Didnāt have a plan, just wanted to pick up heavy things. So I joined hubby on his press day. Back held up nicely, I think the movement is helping it.
Heading down south for many dirt miles over 4 days.
Monday
10k Swing Challange (Using 35lb bell for this)
- 10 Swings, Press 3 rep
- 15 Swings, Press 3 reps
- 25 Swings, Press 5 reps
- 50 Swings
Done in 19:29
500/10000
Not bad, barely sweating by the end. Felt almost too easy. I am sure by day 3 I might change my tune. Moved slow. Upped the press reps, using both hands as my forearm doesnāt like one-arm press. My back is still a little twingy. Also fighting a head cold and cough left over from the weekend.
I imagine this is more a product of your total badassedness shinning through. Youāll have to step up the challenge Iām sure. Good on you!
awesome pictures! So cool!
This!
19:29 is an absolutely fantastic timeāwow! My best swing-only workout was in that range, and it took me 12 days to get there. Youāre off to a great start!
More
Ended up staying 2 nights in Escalante, 2 nights in Moab. Coldest night was 15. The ā-60ā sleeping bags were barely 30deg bags. We got doughnuts at our favorite place in Moab before they close for the season. We did a couple new trails. I bagged 2 more arches. Just an awesome, cold, weekend.
@T3hPwnisher Thank you for the kind words!
@SvenG thanks! You are in amazing shape, I am beginning to think I am doing something wrong here. Iāll see how tonight goes!
Awesome pics, thanks so much for sharing! Iām excited to see your KB swing challenge results.
Youāre welcome! Glad you like the non-training updates.
Swing challange should be good! Excited to see how it goes as well.
God I need to move out west, Iām so jealous of all your outdoor adventures.
It is an absolute playground out here! I have travelled many other places and there is no where else I would rather live.
Tuesday
10k Swing Challange
Pull ups - 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 3, 3, 3

15 Swings, Dip 3 reps
25 Swings, Dip 5 reps
50 Swings

Grip became a factor. Moving steadily throughout. Rests between the lower number reps were just long enough to do the dips.
