@Andrewgen_Receptors Thanks! It sure felt longer…
Friday
Run
5.25-mile easy run… slower than I would like to log. 65 minutes.
50 and clear this morning. Went up to a fancy, foothills neighborhood to run, the change of scenery was nice.
Leaves are changing. The plan is to do a hike Sunday to go enjoy said leaves. We had a few plans the last couple of weekends that meant no Jeep travels. Itching to get back to her.
That’s what we want to see. Nice work. The bar was spinning and moving around a lot, is it because you wrapped a towel over it or could you work on a tighter upper back position ?
It is likely a bit of both, I have been wondering that as well. It spun a lot before I started using the towel. Do I need to work on “pinning the bar” to my back?
Side question, or could be related, did your hands ever start to go numb/tingle about halfway through the set?
I know this wasn’t directed at me, but yes - every time. It could be a set of 5 and my hands will be partially numb.
Always appreciate more perspectives! Good to know. Mine didn’t start the numbness and tingling until a few sessions ago, not a super comforting feeling.
I don’t tend to get numb hands, but I did get some chest and shoulder pain from the squat brace position when I did super squats. I deff think you could her your upper back tighter and try and get you elbows under the bar more (I am bad at this too). I noticed you started the set with a thumbless grip, is that because of the hand numbness ??
Regarding the hand numbness- It happens to me sometimes when I’m going into sets of 10+ and I’m really tired. I figure it’s because I’m not supporting the bar well at that point and it’s pressing into odd locations.
I definitely felt it whenever I attempted very high reps, regardless of the weight. Felt lots of it when I was doing those 50+ reps earlier in the year.
Noted, I will focus on that next time!
I didn’t even notice this. I do that a lot with the press and bench. It feels better on my wrists, but I don’t have any actual issue with them.
I think it is this for me as well. I am so focused on the lower part of the squat, my upper body is too slack.
That is both awesome and disgusting.
Non-training Update
I haven’t talked about this here because it has absolutely nothing to do with lifting.
This also shouldn’t come as a surprise because, obviously, Unicorns can fly.
New (rental) ride:
No, she isn’t mine. It is a rental, but I am stoked to be flying a Cessna again. I haven’t flow this model before, and she is a sweetheart. Nice control feel, smooth, and solid landing gear. (Many of the Cessnas I have flown have landing gear that feels more like a wet noodle.) This was a checkout flight (a flight instructor goes up with you to make sure you are a safe pilot, so you can take it out whenever after this) we are now the first renters for this plane. Many flight trips to follow.
Hubby’s turn:
I need to comment SO much more in this log because its too fulll of awesome, but my inner nerd got triggered on this and I have to say
You have evolved from a unicorn to an alicorn
Means a lot, thank you!
Achievement unlocked? That’s a fair evolution, I do need a couple of wings to fly.
I see you are also a scholar of My Little Pony

I’m just alive, you’re living.
This comment means more to me than you know.
When I was teenager, my uncle had a small plane that could do some loops and stuff. I was the only one who wanted to ride with him for the tricks stuff, that was so much fun.
If that view of the valley is where I think it is, I just gotta say: I miss those mountains!
Awesome stuff regardless—lifting and non-lifting alike!
You are now so awesome you have become one of those people that I will reference when I want to make a point about awesome.
It goes something Like “I know this Sheila in the US who is smashing SS like you would not believe. Oh and she flys planes… how Fkn Quality is that”
@donnerschweer That is awesome! There is flying, then there is flying upside down. So glad you had that opportunity and took him up on it, flying in a little plane is something else.
@SvenG The mountains are awesome here! I am terrain spoiled. Have you lived out west?
@simo74 So much to like in your comment! I guess I need to keep being a good example.
