What's Wrong with the Training Log Forum

Why is the training log forum full of ‘experienced’ trainers who don’t look like they lift weights that get hundreds of views when my friend 2-Scoops’ training log has been up for a couple months and only has 1200 page views?

Why does anyone care that some skinny beginner (or some loser who’s been “lifting” for years but looks like they just fell off the turnip truck) front squatted 225 for 2 or made a PR military press at 115 for 5?

Here’s link to my homeboy’s log:

Is internet fame really required?!?.. A training log is so that you can track your progress and get help etc… when needed… not to become “popular”

edit: …Brah

Who cares if your “homeboy” (platonic life partner) thread doesnt get any looks. Does it keep you up at night?

Have you tried hitting them?

With 2,000 some posts, you think the OP would understand by now that when you post stupid shit that no one cares about 9/10 members are going to tell you that you’re an idiot.

When you’re not pimping your homeboys training log do you also fantasize about giving him post workout rub downs then self medicate your depression w/ cookies and haagen daaz when you realize your nut hugging, excessively gay man love goes unrequited.

Amiright, it’s not so much popularity… its the fact that his log is actually useful. He’s actually making real progress and is pretty strong. People who are successful and take the time to log it in public should be tapped as a resource. Phil Wylie and Jack Reape are two others who have great, useful training logs. Some novice or non-effort lifter’s log may be useful for them, but it’s really not doing shit for anyone else.

Theuofh, I thought platonic Thermoflex rubdowns were an integral part of the periworkout process.

I bet you’re tapping his resources.

Of course they are, in jail.

Yeah, I just like to bump his thread in the hopes it will become more popular and I can ride his coattails. [/quote]

WTF is wrong with you?

some people are fuckin weird, man…

People click on the training logs that they can associate with, lifts and physique wise.
Judging by the questions we see on the BB forum, the bulk of the site is composed of
1.forever-beginners who never force progress beyind the noob gains.
2.ignorant people in the perpetual ‘limbo’ between strength training and bodybuilding ergo they don’t look like they lift despite having lifted a while.

Yes, there are solidly built REAL powerlifters and REAL strongmen (professional). Now compare their lifts to the lifts of the skinny-fat schoolkids here who bench 315 with a single-ply and expect to show some development.

REAL Powerlifters and strength athletes who have solid physiques are also moving godly amounts of weight in the big 3. So if you expect to get a solid build by strength training, plan to match Kroc’s numbers in the big 3…or switch to BBing.

Uhm, one quick question: How come he’s BB rowing 275x12 but T-bar rowing only 3 plates for 12?

I feel like I should address some things on here… first off, I did not ask for this to be posted, second off I did not think of this to be posted in the first place. But I would like to add that I have looked at most of the poster’s profiles and training logs and would like to politely say that they could at the very least learn something. I post my log mainly to benefit others…I get hated on a lot for keeping a training log on this website. I used to keep everthing in my head and it worked fine, I can continue to do so, but I think it’s a benefit to myself and others to keep it here.

To address Mr. Purple’s question, I’ve done 335lbs for 10reps on the bb row, however the T-bar machine row is a little different, not so much body enlish, different position, different grip, different stance…overall it’s a different exersize and one I like to do if I’m already pretty well spent on my main exercises. I don’t do it as a main lift. Some days I feel better than others so I go heavier…it’s something that I think you should know if you continuiously train.

Thank you for those of you who read my log, and I’m more than happy to help those who want and are willing to listen to help. Conversely I’m always open to suggestions.

front squat-500lbs
back squat-600+lbs (depends if you add knee wraps) 815+lbs equipped
bench-350lbs 600+lbs equipped
hang clean-300lbsx3 form horrible
hang snatch-210lbsx3 form horrible
deadlift- not sure yet but should be close to 700lbs
bw-normally 191 lbs ±1lb

and to be a dick…talk shit…please…if I can get enough spotters and competitant people to take vids I will. until then, have fun with your 265 back squat and your 440 deadlift. Suck up your pride and look to those of among you that are much stronger than you…there are quite a few on here and post here for others benefits…but a lot are misguided and wish to put down others that offer real suggestions…not just ones that are some internet bullshit that nobody actually follows.

Thanks,
SCOOPS

Come on guys, this is his homeboy…

This could be the most pathetic thing i’ve seen here thus far, and thats really saying something

I agree with tribunaldude on the majority of users on this site do not identify with real power lifters and strongmen. But wouldn’t it make sense for these skinny-fat schoolkids to be reading their training logs and learning what they have to offer? The OP is pointing out this discrepancy. You wouldn’t ask a virgin about their sexual exploits so why would you read training logs about guys relatively inexperienced to lifting?

Problem with this thread was the the op made himself look like a complete douche and waste of time… and took his friend down with him. Even in the training log the op makes himself look retarded… sounds like he isn’t loved at home and hopes that he can get something out of the internet

Dude, you are so right, people who don’t lift as much as you are not as cool as you and deserve to be put down because of it. I think it is a little ridiculous for people to get jealous and upset that high strength levels don’t equal lots of log views.

I do understand your point, you have good numbers, so people should pay attention to you when you speak, I get that and have always been open to advice from stronger lifters.

However, I am not strong at all but I keep a log here so that people can help me, maybe I can help someone else, and it just gives me a place to vent about a bad session or celebrate a PR, even if no one reads it, who cares? its T-Nation, not that important.

I have looked at your log many times, while I am impressed by your numbers, the way you train is not very applicable to me and my goals, I have no plans to compete in geared powerlifting, I train alone, and in general what you do is too different from what I do for me to really be able to draw much advice from it.

I DO look at logs of people much stronger than me (Meat, Modi, Coffee) but these are men with goals similar to mine.

To the OP calm down, it is a training log section, not a popularity contest.

This. I guess my post was in the no man’s land between being completely serious and completely ridiculous, so no one is entertained or informed. From now on I’ll just try to keep my posts to snarky one-liners.
