200M 22.1 Seconds

400M 49.8 Seconds

800M 2:01 (this was not very good for me, should have easily broke 2:00 but never did)

1600M 4:22 (now you see why the 800M is slow)

15K (Utica Boilermaker) 58 Minutes

Long Jump 19’4"

Discus 154’

Shot put 32’

High Jump 5’11" (my height)

V[/quote]

Weak! 23.8 200m
Discus 208’
Shot Put 51’6"

You should learn to run faster on that 200.

Baseball - Tea Ball to High School
Softball - High School til now
Football - 4th Grade to Senior Year - Usually lineman or tight end
Wrestling - Freshman - Senior - Freshman State Champ, Always took me half a season after freshman year to get under 275 to make weight
Archery - Arizona State Champ
Bowling - All Day Baby
Steer Wrestling - On and off for the past three years.
Track and Field - Mostly Field as I only ran the 200, even though I was slow as hell in that. I won state in Shot Put and Discus.

Haha I ran it maybe 3 or 4 times.

I threw disc in 2 meets and shot in 1 meet.

What was your 1600 time?

Those are pretty nice shot and disc numbers though. I think mine were pretty good for a 175 lb kid.

Veg, You’re a nice guy but you’re full of shit. In case you’re wondering it’s the 200m time that gives you up. That slip draws immediate attention to your LJ & HJ. If you wanna recheck that 200 time and post the accurate mark I’ll be more inclined to accept the others.

Began playing soccer at the age of 4.

Played basketball in elementary, also rode bikes and skateboards.

Got into pop warner football in 7th grade.

Played football and did track and field in high school.

Played 2 yrs of football in the Pac-10.

Now, my body is paying the price for all of that shit ^^^.

Haha 1600 time, I don’t know as fast as I could drive my truck around the track. I don’t think I ran more than 400 meters in my life.

Here is the NYS boy Track and field all time records.

100m 10.46 JERMAINE STAFFORD, Franklin, Rochester; Arcadia/Foot Locker Invitational, Arcadia, CA 9Apr94

200m 20.70 JERMAINE STAFFORD, Franklin, Rochester; USATF Junior National Champs. Spartan Stadium, Spokane, WA 27Jun93

400m 46.09 ANTHONY TUFARIELLO, Hewlett; AAU Junior National Champs, Tom Black Stadium, Univ. of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN 18Jun77

800m 1:48.56 JEFF VAN WIE, Suffern; Golden West Invitational, Sacramento, CA 11Jun83

1,000m 2:25.5 TOM CARROLL, Fordham Prep, Bronx; (5) International Meet, Koblenz, West Germany (US HS Record) 10Aug57

1,500m 3:43.4 MATT CENTROWITZ, Power Memorial, Manhattan; (2) USA vs. Poland Junior Meet, Warsaw, Poland 20Jul73

1,600m/Mile 4:02.7y MATT CENTROWITZ, Power Memorial, Manhattan; (2) AAU Junior National Champs, Univ. of Florida, Gainesville, FL 23Jun73

Soo Being 1.4 seconds off the 200 M record and being 3.8 Second off the 400M record is a huge stretch of the imagination? I don’t have the newspaper clippings in front of me, Maybe it was a 22.3 and yes it’s all hand timed so Maybe I really ran a 22.5 that day. Either way it was a low 22 and anything under a 23 is pretty damn fast.

V

Veg, you did not run 22 secs in the 200m.

Usain Bolt ran 19.19, if you did run 22 secs you would have qualified for the Olympics.

Haha, I believe 22 is about an average college time.

Belligerent probably knows more about sprints than anyone on this site. I’d like to hear from him if he thinks some Joe (especially of Veg’s general build) could, with little block or curve experience, go out and drop a 22 in just a few efforts.

Karate 8-12
Rugby 10-15 blind side flanker (no.6)
Swam 8-15 up to national level at 15. Dropped out for 2 years did it in my final year of school got to a decent standard again. Now swim for university

hockey.

Football for 20 + years, all state team (HS), college scholarship, and semi-pro. Currently coach FB and play multiple leagues sports.

I don’t remember my 200 m time as track was only a (mandatory) tool for football but I don’t think I ever broke 23 or 24 s. However I did run a 4.6 40.

I also played baseball and basketball until 9th grade when FB became the light at the end of the tunnel.

OP, what about you?

3 Years HS basketball . Played small forward/power forward. Could dunk on a good day. 6’ 150’idh lbs.
3 years HS Track. Long jump , triple jump high jump. Best high jump was 5’8 because my form sucked balls. My form was so bad they made me do the Western Roll my freshman year. For those that don’t know, Western Roll looks liken this:

It drew some crowds when people would see it and think “What the fuck is this guy doing?”. They liked it though. There something cool about diving over a bar like a maniac.

Senior year got kicked off all sports for being a general asshole in school.

Collegiate Lacrosse.

the NCAA Championships qualifying time for the 200 is sub 22 seconds… but he did say it was a hand timed highschool meet. That is reeeeeeeeeeeeeally easy to screw up and get a reading that isnt too accurate

Funny thing about High Jumpers. Brief hijack

My college track team always had High Jumpers with really great PR’s but strangely lacking in other ways.

Perry. 6’10 PR. Couldn’t even Long Jump 17 feet

Oscar. Jumped 6’11 as a 17 yr old. I believe it was the record for his country. Five years of college, never jumped higher. He looked at me with a big proud smile and said “But I’ve gotten more consistent!”

Rob. 7 feet in high school. Couldn’t come close to dunking a basket ball. All though he claimed otherwise.

David. Was a JC tennis player. Someone talked him into jumping for the JC track team in their league championship. He jumped 7’4 in either that meet or the state championship. I think he won state. Coach gave him a full scholarship. I don’t think he even jumped 7 feet again.

end jack

Rugby Union, 2 games a week for 4 years during university, one for uni, one for my club. Felt like I’d been in a car crash every Thursday and Sunday. It’s nice to have a break and just do weights!

Not bad numbers I jumped 6’6" at my highest. That was the first day before I was “coached” in it. For some reason, I couldn’t get over that after.

Played Baseball from 9 to 22 & 32 to 36.
Pole Vaulted for 8 years.

*In college I Vaulted during the year and played on a Semipro Baseball team in the summer. When I was 22 a scout told he would get me on a “real semipro team” up in Alaska. He didn’t call back. When I finally called him he said the position filled. I’ve never known what to think of that.

When I was 33 I went to an open Kansas City Royals tryout. Of course I said I was 23. They rate players on a scale from 2-8, 5 being Major League average so if you get a 5 you’re a stud. These were my marks:

-Throwing from Right Field, 5 throws; 4.5. More for accuracy than strength. A 5 is a one bounce throw that skips, doesn’t actually bounce.
-Hitting; 3.3. The scout told me I’d be a 220 to 230 Major League hitter. Which is like an above average hitting pitcher.
-Fielding; 2.8. Bull Freaking Shit! I know I’m a really good fielder.
-60 yard sprint. 6.75 which was the fastest time out of the 100 kids there. Major League average is 6.95. Based on comparative training times, if I had gone either of the next two years I would have run 6.60-6.65.

In Racquet Ball I once won the “B” ladder playing left handed and I made it to the championship match in the “A” ladder right handed on the same weekend.

I never lost a Ping Pong match in my basement.

Most importantly, me and Perry (the 6’10 High Jumper mentioned above) never lost a Wheel Barrel race when doing some of the goofy drills we used to do.
