I have 40 pounds on you and I am only 5’8. Put up some pics if you want honest feedback. I’m tired of playing guess by the numbers game.

A.) I’m not in school and haven’t been for 5 year.
B.) I obviously have a real job where I can’t live in the gym.
C.) I work out every day after work for at least an hour.
How many push-ups can you actually do X? If that’s what you’re gonna bring up…
Guy, I am separated military. I actually have documentation that I can do more pushups than most people ever could in under a minute or so. I think my top score was over 90 at well over 270lbs back then.
Considering my chest is stronger now, I doubt my number is down much and wouldn’t care either way.

I asked for opinion on what would be good measurments in inches for the areas described. You just decided to show up, like you always do and insult people.
You totally had my respect when I came on this site back in '07 but man, recently you’ve done nothing but been a dick.
Your respect is not needed. You logged into a bodybuilding forum with stats less than many beginners asking what good measurements are. Anyone who ignores how much of a beginner you are to give you measurements when you only weigh 165lbs at that height isn’t doing you any long term favors…even though you are new enough to actually think otherwise.

Maybe benching 300lbs as a max, curling 175lbs as a max,
People come on this site everyday asking for advice and all they get is “noob”, “troll”, “fat skinny”…You never actually help.
Step off your pedestal asshole. We get it, you’re the biggest dude at the BBQ! applause
Now… back to the question for those who aren’t too busy being assholes.
Pedestal? For not applauding your lack of results?

Maybe benching 300lbs as a max, curling 175lbs as a max, deadlifting 240lbs for sets…yeah maybe that is average. At least I put forth some effort.

Waist
Chest
Arms
Thighs

First, you don’t need to live in the gym, an hour a day is fine.
Second, calling X a dick in such a manner is kind of, you know, dickish.
Third, forget what post already said it, but everyone’s different. As long as you’re not completely imbalanced you should be fine (meaning, forget the original question, it is now moot)
Dude, your lack or reading comprehension is phenomenal.
There were two stats listed. I do not weigh 165.
I’m the 185lb-er. Fuck, learn to read.
90 push-ups, that’s pretty good, I won’t knock you good job.
ds1973, I’ll totally check that out, thank you.

I love how people come to forums and demand explanations and information from the experienced members.
Just because you managed to make a screen name and post in the same forum as we do does not entitle you to anything.

So, let me get this straight…your goal isn’t to gain enough muscle to match whatever ideal goal you have, you simply want to stay at the same weight and be told what measurements would make that weight look good?
WTF?
6’1" 165, Im thinking somewhere between long distance runner and prisnor at auschwitz.
I’m done. Whatever just close this fuckin’ thread…
Squats and whole milk, nute and tons of food… you need to grow.

Professor X, your job must not be a ‘real job.’ I wonder how you manage to make more money than this kid, AND go to the gym? You must be a super-hero.

He doesn’t want to grow. He wants his measurements to improve while staying at 185lbs from the look of things.
That is only way to make sense of that post.

You have to understand that when you ask stupid questions, that we have no way of answering other than offering pure speculation, we are going to let you know.
I mean come on dude, muscle belly fullness, length of insertion, bodyfat, vascularity etc etc all factor into measurements and how they look. I mean wtf do you expect us to tell you?
Okay, so I’m gonna try and be reasonable and not a douche about this…
I want to know, what would be considered good size in inches (in the specified areas), for a man who weighs 185lbs and is 5 feet 10 inches tall.
I never said anything about wanting to maintain 185lb. I’m not sure exactly where you got that.
about 9 inches
B-Man, I thought that stayed between us?

Ok, I am pretty much the exact same height and weight.
I ASSURE YOU, at this weight, unless you have a huge misbalance, precise measures are meaningless.
And I hope Prof X makes his 30,000th post a nice one ![]()

Gee, follow the bouncing ball.
We got that from what you wrote because if your goal was to gain muscle (and obviously body weight) then your concern of what measurements make 185lbs look good WOULD NOT FUCKING MATTER. Why, you ask? because you wouldn’t even be 185lbs for long.
kicks bouncing ball through fucking window
He obviously couldn’t make his 30,000th post a nice one…
Okay, X, what would be good solid measurments for a fella at 5’10?

I’m 5’10".
This is a bodybuilding forum, therefore, if your goal is to look anything at all like one, then you had best shoot for well over 200lbs relatively lean.
I got compliments back when I weighed 210lbs. I consider that a decent base…at least on me.
But again, anyone with any knowledge at all about this knows that not all people look the same at similar weights.
This was me at 210lbs.[photo]1847[/photo]
