What Type of Fish Oil to Take?

I was wondering, what type of fish oil should you take? I see so many types in the stores, omega 3, salom oil, cod fish oil, then there is flax seed oil, then there is some that combind a few, like omega 3, 6 and 9, etc…

Oh and a how much should you be taking?

Thanks.

Flameout. From the nature of your post I am assuming you haven’t read about it in the T-Nation store and strongly recommend you do so. Follow the recommend dosing on the bottle.

D

I was about to ask ‘do you know where you are?’ lol then noticed your five posts.
Flameout.

Enjoy. It makes me feel like a kid in a candy store.

you should take fish oils that are first tested by a third party for purity and secondly well protected from oxidation. the latter being the wild card as a batch of oil can be in great shape when it was manufactured but poor handling/storage along the way can compromise freshness.

i try to use liquid fish oil because it’s easier to take in quantity, use on salads, in shakes etc., and because you can smell and taste exactly what you’re getting.

i do use capsules also and often cut them open to taste/smell them. fresh oil has little smell or taste. fishy-ness increases with oxidation. consuming rancid or even semi-rancid fish oil will not promote good health.

Yeah, Flameout. If you are going to consume appropriate quantities you want to make sure you are getting something that doesn’t have mercury and so forth.

Also, I don’t know about other people, but I’m not a big fan of sucking down liquid fish oil. Flameout is pretty concentrated stuff so you don’t have to take too many pills in a day either.

trying it straight is kinda gross…but tha carlson’s lemon fish oil is killer on salad and vegetables. i use on on food everyday and girls ask me shit like " what kind of dressing do you use ? " then they get all confused when i say “fish oil”.

i’ve had a couple bottles of Flameout and thought it was good. my cat likes it also. thing is anything i get mail order sits on the porch all day and gets damn hot sitting there inside a box. when fall comes around i’ll be getting some more.

Yeah Flameout seems to be popular around here. I am almost out of my second bottle. Since it is out of stock I ordered some Lemon Carson’s yesterday. What is everyone’s take on the Carson’s? What kind of dosage are you using? I was thinking a couple tablespoons per day along with my single serving of Flameout.

I take Flameout and Carlson’s Liquid Fish Oil. Carlson’s has a lemon flavor so it tastes descent, I put it in salads or do it straight.

I am experimenting with higher doses of fish oil right now, 20 grams total 2 servings of Flameout and 7 servings of Carlson. Normally I would take 1 serving of Flameout and 2 servings of Carlson.

I was listening to a Charles Poliquin interview( think it was on t-mag) he suggests switching brands everytime you finish a bottle.
