HI, I am going to do a 9miles run in mid-February, and I’ve been practicing for few months, but only 1 time per week. Now I am planning to practice 3 times per week instead, so I want to know if any supplements can prevent as less muscle lost as possible. Thanks
Consuming BCAA before, during, and after might help. Increasing your daily protein intake as well i suppose. I am not sure though I have only seen that recommended for an average cardio session not 9 MILES. Take it as you wish…
Surge Workout Fuel – there’s no way I’d try something like this without it.
try leucine with 30-40g whey before your workouts
I would pop some BCAA and/or leucine pre and post training, as well as a protein/carb shake as soon before and as soon after as you can tolerate.
You could also sip on a carb/BCAA/Leucine drink whilst running. Do a search, ratios and timing etc have been discussed lots!
If you want to complete this run without losing muscle mass, in a good time and without damaging your joints, I would reccommend reading up on the subject. Good luck.
