Hi everyone, i started lifting seriously a couple of months ago. I started with Stronglifts 5x5 and am now uncertain of where i should go from here.
My stats
Bodyweight = 175lb, 12% BF
Squat = 260 5x5 or 265 5x3
Bench = 170x5x5
Overhead press = I just learned this with barbell, i used to do 5x5 with 55lb dumbbell but now i am up to 115x5x5 w/ barbell.
Pendlay Row = 175x5x5
Chinup = BW + 65lbx5
I was planning on switching to starting strength but this seems like a regression rather than progression.
** I just switched to 5x3 on squat so i can keep progressing, i stalled at 5x5.
Nice article. I think the Texas method might be jumping the gun on progress. I believe i could get much more out of my lifts if i drop down to a 3x5 program like Rippetoe’s starting strength. Once i stall there i’ll move on to the whole cycling volume and intensity deal. Thanks

Just be sure to make up your mind. It sounded like you DIDN’T want to do SS. You made two completely contradictory statements pretty close together. I say pick either and have at it. No need to wait around thinking too much.
