Free your mind, that’s right.
Same diff.
CT Fletcher’s videos are entertaining and he is a great example of what a natural trainee can truly accomplish with a free mind.

So did the OP ever get his question answered?
ryan.b_96 wrote:
I really like the scientific side of bodybuilding just as much as the actual training. Now i know these thread normally turn to shit really quick, but im hopping to have a decent discussion with minimal flaming.

this is a collection of charts/information taken from some of the most knowledgeable and respected people in the scientific side of bodybuilding. two of these people based their finding on numbers taken from top pro natural bodybuilders, the genetic elite.
http://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=lyle%20mcdonald%20genetic%20muscular%20potential&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&sqi=2&ved=0CCwQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bodyrecomposition.com%2Fmuscle-gain%2Fwhats-my-genetic-muscular-potential.html&ei=an2YUZ_0CMaiigevnYDYDg&usg=AFQjCNG5pbGMiygvVmI0hdIhjKNfNR8aDQ

when these debates come up, the side that is against these findings usually has no solid argument. all they do is make up hypothetical situations or use extreme examples to try and prove their point. yet no one has been able to post a picture of 1 natural bodybuilder who has largely exceeded these charts. so until someone does your arguing nothing but semantics.

above is frank zane 3 times mr O.
stats

 • height 5’9
 • contest weight 185lb
 • off season weight 205lb

now this is someone with elite genetics and access to just about any drug he wanted of that era. yet we have people on here who claim to have natural powerlifting friends who are 5’7, 225lb and walk around at 6% bodyfat. FUCKING PLEASE…
This is what was asked

So just to make sure the point of this thread is made clear…

SteelyD Thinks I can bench 800 lbs! Sup bitchessssssss
no! You must set a realistic goal by examining what the top nattys have accomplished!

I have now limited your progress by telling you there is a limit. That’s how it works!

you might as well just quit lifting
But see I’m only limited by being told about my limits. So if someone just tells me they loaded the bench with 795 lbs, but in reality loaded up 850, I wouldn’t know the difference, and Bench it easily.

The only way limits limit is if I’m aware, right?
I knew you could do it, dude! We’re all very proud of you.

So at the risk of being a ā€œPX Nuthuggerā€, I’ll say this:

PX never said ā€œgo get fatā€. (That I’m aware of).

The good doctor, while comfortable in his own level of fatness, has to my knowledge never said ā€œgo get fatā€.

This is what I, as a newb, took from his earlier posts/threads. I always understood it as ā€˜take it to where you feel comfortable’, the ā€˜put the brakes on’. I think, IIRC, he said ā€˜damage control’. No? I mean, if your goal is BB comp or physique oriented and you are not worried about 1RM liftsand you just keep getting fat, then really you’re not really listening to the message. If you want to put on weight fast and you understand that you’re going to smooth out, then the message is eat for the goal.

It’s one way of doing it. Certainly not ā€œThe Onlyā€ way. Maybe not the best way, or even a good way (for everyone). Just ā€˜one’ way.

I know I am somewhat retarded and probably one of the least knowledgeable people on these boards, but I swear I’ve never read ā€œGo get fatā€ from the ā€œWorks of PXā€.

Now, can we fucking move on now? I really want to talk about biceps or something else besides this damned fat vs lean bullshit.
Your post is sensible and I think you know I think good of you.

However, although X of course never said ā€œget fatā€ --who would actually say this?–his advice will and has lead quite a few people to get fat.
I can vouch for that. I bought into the whole ā€œgotta hold a heavy weight so my body gets used to moving around at that weightā€ mentality. In the end, I needed to diet for 10 whole months to get stage ready, and I actually had alot of medical issues at the heavy bodyweight.
There are many ppl from tnation that had this exact thing happen only to diet the fat off and see the results of getting strong and eating s ton did not yield extra muscle. Now they stay lean and grow look better all the time yet make consistent progress
That’s awesome that some can do that.

Is that the only way everyone should approach growing and making progress?
I hope that’s not the impression you got from that post becuse no where have I ever said that. I am merely pointing out that is possible to build a damn good physique without getting sloppy. Take the approach that fits your own psychology
Now wait just a minute. I know you didn’t SAY that, but if I don’t respond in a way that implies that you said that, then tow a hard line that that’s your stance, how are we supposed to have mind numbing after mind numbing threads about things nobody really ever said but propagate the idea that there are hard line dogmatic camps about the most irrelevent minutiae?

Alright, then I take the snide smiley face back. I was (possibly wrongfully) assuming he is implying a muscular gain.

20 pounds in two months is an enormous bodyweight gain.

I would guess he was too. That’s why I clarified I would never try to claim that and point out I know there are other factors much more likely

Going from a dry and depleted state was the only reason and it sucked

I wonder when these thread max out?
