What Is Your Waist Measurement?

6’2" 235lbs 33inch waist

5’10", 190lbs, 35" waist. Actually when I come to think about it I think it was like 34" 1 year ago when I weighted 160lbs.

oh, and: kingbeef fuck your fucking genetics man  how long have you been lifting? been careful with the diet (considering your leanness, you are not even close to 15%, you are probably even under 10%), or are you just one of the lucky ones lol?

Man, I’m glad I came across this forum. I’ve always thought I was way out of shape in the waist. Right now I’m 6’1", 205, and about a 34 inch waist. At my biggest I was 237 with a 38 inch waist. [/quote]

By the way, I wasn’t ragging on anybody else, just pointing out that my waist isn’t as big as I thought.

But I don’t know what units.

How can anyone think that at 6’1", a 34" waist is big? lol

As a gross generalisation, I’d say that at average height (5’9"), 34" waist is about average amongst the population - and that’s with individuals who don’t have to worry about bulking…

Hey, I used to be a 240lb. 18 year old with about a 42" waist. I’ve always worried about my girth. So now it’s time for some oreo blizzards!!

5’5" 203 34-36"

5’9, 240lbs, 36" waist. BF % prolly approx 20 right now.

Ah, that explains the fat phobia/paranoia lol

You’re talking to someone who lives in the North of Scotland - anyone with a waist smaller than 38 inches is considered a “hottie” here haha. Speak to any of the old time farmers/mechanics here and they’ll think that you’re “anorexic” if you’re waist is anywhere near 30 inches…

Yeah, I live in Texas, the fattest state in America. We love our deep fried everything. We actually have a state fair here that features deep fried twinkies, pickles, hot dogs, and once even deep fried coca cola!

Since I started “bodybuilding” (and I use that term loosely) I’ve always idiolized the old school guys that had the extremely narrow waists. I stepped on the scale yesterday though and it said 195! And that was in the evening! Time to start hitting the chinese buffets again.

Waist 33.5 at 182 lbs/ 5’11.

Up from 30.5 at 153 lbs in September.

I’m happy with an inch of waist for every 10 lbs of weight gain.
No plans to stop bulking at all.

Personally, I think that looks more aesthetically pleasing (narrow waist), but, ruling out insulin control etc, I guess a lot of it is genetics (wide shoulders and stuff). Some people just have to accept that they probably will never get far below 34" even when at very low bf.

Yeah, I’d say it’s time to bulk too lol.

38-40" would be the line for me personally (far beyond that feels “uncomfortable” physically and psychologically), that’s when I’d start recomp.

This is me to the T. At 6’2, I was once down to 168. I did not drop below a 33 or 34 waist. Now I am pushing 40" at 100lbs heavier. Only within the last month or so have I felt “uncomfortable.”

About a year and half ago I was at nearly 240 with about a 38" waist. I felt totally fat and bloated so I dropped down to about 215. I thought being lighter would make a difference in stamina, but I actually get fatigued easier now. What kind of routine do you do?

I’m doing an upper/lower split 3x per week. It’s more “powerlifting” right now (if I can call it that), but I will be starting a 3 way, done about 4-5x per week when I can (in the process of building own gym…not just the equipment, the structure too lol).

Yeah, I’m trying to build my own home gym too. As of right now it consists of a pull up bar. Pretty high tech I know. My wife bought one of those total gyms recently plus I need a new car so it’s not a high priority. Would be nice to have though on days when going to the gym is a pain.
