Correct me if I am wrong, but in this video of the great coach himself, is his suit on backwards?
I could just be ignorant, but all of the suits I have seen with velcro straps, the strap attaches the opposite way of how he has it set up in this video.
That crap was funny as hell. Those bands over-powered him and he felt it immediately! WOW! I will not be sending my son to his training camp!
There are so many awesome things in this video that I could sit here and write about them for an hour or so… But my favorite is the 90 LB kid in the background wearing sunglasses. FLEX MAGIZENE STYLE!

What a fucking clown, he wears his suit backwards and loads up more band tension than he can even handle. I can’t believe he tries to say that he train Gene and Mazza, maybe the used to train together like a hundred years ago. I can’t believe he is trying to get a patent on his training system, who would want to even use that shit anyways. Delusional fuck[/quote]
He also claimed at one point to have trained Mike Miller.

Mike Miller corrected that on powerlifting watch in 2007. He said Jim used to train at his gym, but Jim never coached Mike. Apparently Jim got kicked out. Jim is actually in PA not Maine. He’s been promoting this system since 2003…
that was really sad watching those kids bomb out at the meet. why would they want to continue the sport if after all the time and effort they put in, and their parents getting their food, supplements and kit, just to completely suck when it comes to the meet

alright, THIS is my new favorite video…karma almost bitch slapped him there after calling those kids retards. what a tool
Just to double check, what did the kid on our right (his left) say in the squat-band video where Jim almost tips over from his tardbands? Right before Jim snaps back with “ALWAYS,” spoken like a true angry hick?
So he squats high, with every article of full gear, with 115 bar weight and what must be over 500lbs of band tension that he can’t stand with… The words Social Darwinism keep flashing in my head.
I really hope I am stronger than this guy, does anyone have any idea what he lifts raw/if he has ever squatted to depth?
I just get pissed off every time I watch those videos. He’s blowing these kids ego’s up bigger than his own. Let’s throw on a shirt thats 8 sizes to small that we can get but 2 inches down in. That has so much carry over into football, wrestling. So does training in gear. lets squat in gear for 12 reps…makes so much sense
someone posted a link of one of these on Wendler’s facebook. i was hoping like hell he’d comment on it so i could use it in a post on one of the videos, since he keeps name dropping Tate and louie simmons
People like this guy are the reason powerlifting is getting worse and worse. All of these kids are going to get injured playing sports after they’ve talked all this shit about being competetive powerlifters. So, everyone they know will think that “powerlifting” is bad for sports and getting strong means getting hurt.
From what I can gather, all these kids are athletes going to this guy to get ready for different sports. He says things like max efforts, lets them use bands and suits, and takes them to competitions and these kids are hooked. When they get their seasons started and they all get all fucked up, they are going to come back to this guy for rehab advice. Then they will get double fucked up.
And no assistance work? What the fuck is that??? Using the conjugate system, the right way, puts more emphasis on assistance work than max efforts. one of the westside articles says if a 400lb bencher wants to be a 600lb bencher, his assistance work must be brought up to the level of the 600lb bencher. Then he will have the capacity to bench 600lbs.
I’m sure this goes on everywhere. Some asshole gets some skewed view of strength training and jams it down a group of athletes throats. Who gives a shit if these kids go and bomb out at meets, if they are training for high school sports then that doesnt matter. What matters is making sure they arent going to rip both of their hamstrings in the first step of a sprint the first day of camp. What an asshole.
“No where on a football field do you see an athlete like this.” You also dont bench. Or use bands. Or not wear a helmet. Maybe they should do 800lb walkouts in full equipment while getting tackled. Now that would be functional. And Sports Specific.
