If I had to pick… The Cure. Pornography and Disintegration
I’m game for a little education. Personally, Epictetus has resonated with me recently.
Reality is perceived by the mind, your own personal experience of reality and your own mind are inseparable.
I said love contains feelings, but isn’t in and of itself a feeling, that doesn’t preclude the definition including some feelings. More of that list is action rather than feelings.
The bystander effect begs to differ.
That’s because you define it as a feeling and can’t comprehend actions being part of love.
I think you’ve demonstrated that you don’t really understand love, this statement and others like it are a direct contradiction to the lived experience of many of the posters here (and this isn’t a unique forum, it’s just how a significant % of the world understand and experience love).
This isn’t a personal attack, I am hopeful you will do one day, but it’s something that you have to experience and grow into (from my own personal experience, I was the same at your age).
Something deeper… Like real genuine, deep love (as opposed to lust and novelty).
Other people - and they’re IN YOUR HOUSE!!!
I don’t understand. Why then you love someone? You describe love as something that you don’t need a reason for. You just love someone. Well I think there is something deeper, each one to his own.
I’m probably wrong because I never experienced true love, but as someone who’ve observed from the side, that’s my perspective. Let’s see if that changes.

Have you ever felt a feeling you didn’t choose to feel?
Have a child. Look at it while it takes its first breath. At that moment, you will know what love is, and then you will process the understanding that your parents once felt that way about you.
Socrates had some thoughts on that.

“I know nothing”?
The child thing is too real. The moment I heard the heart beat on the sonogram, there was no fighting that feeling.
Theres also a reason for that. You feel that way because of evolution, you want yourself to continue after your death.
This is actually becoming too scientific/un-humany.
What credentials entitle you to speak to my motivation?
I have three adopted children I feel the same way about.
My question got skipped ![]()
I didn’t speak to you personally.
Oops
I guess I have a thing for a girl I don’t wanna feel because we wouldn’t work out. Does that count? xD
Sorry, I must’ve been confused by the fact that you quoted me and said ‘you’, as if talking about me, the person you quoted.
Well I thought you were talking in third person.

So, to clarify, when you stub your toe, you are choosing to feel the pain? Or the anger that comes with stubbing your toe?
Lol no. But there is a reason behind pain.
fine, what credentials do you have that entitle you to this belief about ‘everyone’?
How do you reconcile this belief
with:
And, in turn, one may not NEED a reason for love. The reason can be present without the need for it. One can simply feel the feeling.
