Re: TL, possibly. I’m basing my experience on a 2003 TL that I drove. But the reviews and my drive in 2003 did not put them as highly as you guys have, so maybe they improved them a LOT since then.
The TL was completely redesigned for the 2004 model. The 04 TL is about as similar to the 03 TL as it is to a Honda Civic.

I have to ask what you consider polished. While the RX-8 is a nice ride I cannot see how this car is more polished than a G35 Coupe. Maybe in your opinion it looks better which I would obviously disagree on. I have personally driven both the G35 and the RX-8 and I cannot see how the RX-8 is more polished than the G35 or even comes close to handling as well. Im not putting the Mazda down by any means but I’d like to hear about how it is more polished, especially in the performance department.
It’s not something that can be that easily quantified – we’re talking about highly subjective stuff here. Did you test the GT version? Also, when did you test it? Not only the GT version is on a different league than the “standard”, there were a lot of improvements to the RX-8 (including to the performance of the engine) even during 2004, much like there were to the G35, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we got different opinions if we test drove them at different times in their lifecycle.
They are both superb cars, and, as I said before, what matters is that we’re happy with our choices…

Think you would want to splurge for a 6 series then? Sounds like the car you are looking for, although it is a bit pricier.

The 6 series is w00t! However, I’d take the MB CLK55 AMG over it anytime (test drove both at a local event and whatever the heck the AMG guys do to the cars, it’s beautiful).
But $70k+ for a coupe is just something I will never allow myself to do. I have other priorities…

Yup, sure do! (Shown here shortly after purchase a year ago prior to any mods.)

Sweet! The perfect ‘driving in the snow’ car Although I would lose the wing. Not just for cosmetics, but for the ‘sleeper’ look. The Evo 8s and the WRX STi’s both have the big spoiler and shows that they have high HP! If you took that off and shaved the emblems, no one suspects it
But, on the other hand, it will let people know, “Hey, I have 300HP, so back off!”
About the Jeep question, why not get a Jeep with a supercharger in it? I know money doesn’t grow on trees, but if you like the Jeep and want something fast, thats the only thing I could think of.
Can you say rollover? Jeeps are fun but they handle like S%$t.
This won’t impress anyone but I drive a 2002 GMC extended cab pickup. Functional and not bad to drive. I would like something with speed, but I still need my license.
1973 Ford Maverick - my first car. Granny bought him in California when he was “born”, and I have had him for 23 years. My brother is a mechanic, and we are finally “fixin it up”. Here is a picture of the HO 302 V-8.
…but right now I drive my wife’s 1991 Pontiac TransSport.
PP,
Isn’t bestiality illegal where you live??? I can’t believe you ride that poor pooch around town with a perfectly good bike sitting there.

This is my pimp ass ride! I figure I burn an extra 40-50k Kcals/year going to school b/c of it and save about 5 grand. Check it YO!
Nah. I’ve seen on truck with a 6 inch lift on it and pulling over 400HP and the thing hasn’t rolled over yet. Of course, if you turn a corner too fast, yeah, it’ll roll…
Bought this two years ago as a present to myself on my 30th birthday. Might as well get the mid-life crisis out of the way eh?
1965 Porsche 911 bodyshell. Engine, g’box and other mechanicals from a Porsche 3.2 carrera. Half-cage, strutbrace, fire extinguisher. NO ABS, NO power steering, NO traction control 1000 kilos, 250 horses. Shit of a chrome shovel. I call her ‘the Silver Pig’.
Now I’m a student again and I’ll probably have to sell her. Bugger.
its a shame you don’t live in America, i would buy that beauty in a heartbeat. My father would drool over that. In my family, “There is no substitute”
71 Chevelle…My baby, I’ve had it since I was 16, (I’m 30 now). Built it twice…now starting to get it ready for another paint job. Has a 360, 12:1 compression, 590 cam, 2.02 camelback heads. Full spool, 4.56 gears in the rear.
My daily driver is a 2003 Chevy Silverado four door. Love it.
I also build race engines, or just driver engines too, in the Southern Colorado area. let me know.
I’ve built a 62 chevy II drag car…fully caged, back halved, and tubbed. A 71 LT 1 Vette, just finished a got rid of that one about three months ago. A 75 Monza street/strip car.
Too bad you didn’t live closer. If I decided to keep my truck, I wanted to put a LT1 in there (if I had the money). A Vortech V8 would be a lot easier swap though, with enough HP for a little S10
