Just curious, what type of vehicle you all drive? Some of us here HAVE to be car enthusiasts to some point.
For now, I drive a bagged '99 Chevy S10. For those that don’t know what ‘bagged’ mean, its a vehicle with adjustable air suspension. Its almost like hydraulics, but airbags are used (like the ones semi trucks have). After I sell that, a Toyota Supra or a Subaru WRX STi will be up next.
I’m a gear head a Topic I can relate to.1988 Dodge D100 slightly modified 512 ci pushing 800 HP high speed parts chaser, 2004 Ford F150 Supercrew FX4 work truck.
But, I dont know whether my next car should be a Nissan or Jeep. The New Z’s look pretty damn pimp. But I appreciate ability over looks anyday, so Im thinking about a Jeep Sahara or Unlimited.
I love to do 90 down the GSP (hence the desire for a fast car) but Id also travel America by backroads or no-roads so I’d love a durable adventure vehicle (hence a jeep).
Of the dozen or so bikes we have, these are the ones I ride.
1940 Indian Sport Scout
1965 Harley Panhead
1941 Indian 741 (military bike)
1971 Moto Guzzi Ambassador
1969 Moto Guzzi Ambassador
1968 Harley Shovelhead
I also own a 1941 3/4 ton Chevy PU.
Obviously I like the old stuff.
About the Jeep question, why not get a Jeep with a supercharger in it? I know money doesn’t grow on trees, but if you like the Jeep and want something fast, thats the only thing I could think of.
Right now it’s an '01 Eclipse Spyder GT. Had to borrow a Jeep for the winter, though (Oh, the fun!).
I’m looking to sell it though in favor of either an '02 Benz C 230 Komp or a new RX-8.
I’ve found some good deals on the Benz, so that’s the only reason there is a choice.
I go through cars like no other. . .
Had a beat up Accord. Went from that to a Grand Cherokee with 20’s and everything else (had to be different). Followed that up with a Jetta and then came the crown jewel - a '69 Fleetwood ‘Limo’ with blue velvet interior. She was cherry, but haunted (long story and I’m not kidding).
2003 Suburban. I have become addicted to XM Radio.
Piece of advice: If you get drunk and try to show off your stereo system to your equally drunk brother-in-law, On-Star cannot eject a stuck CD from the CD-player.
2005 Mazda RX-8 GT. Best driver “feel” I’ve had in car. Ever. And I’ve driven many, including cars 5x more expensive. Fell immediately in love when I test-drove it, couldn’t leave the dealer without it.
It’s also the first car my wife likes as much as I do.
The only thing I miss is factory XM Radio. Had a 2004 Acura TL before, hated the car (I think Sport Sedans are the worst idea to come out of Germany since pork sausages – I thought the Japanese touch would improve the concept, but it’s actually even worse), loved the XM.
Second car is a 2004 RAV4, great for trips to Tahoe or to IKEA…
If I had no conscience, I’d get a Mercedes SLK55, however the added cost (both $$$ and environmental impact) does not remotely justify the added benefit. I just felt dirty driving it. Really.

I’d say the same thing about my 350Z. Especially now that I’ve tuned the suspension (taken out what little understeer and lean remained).
The difference is, my 350Z has torque. Sorry, had to go there… I love the RX-8, but I think Mazda way underpowered a more deserving car. Hopefully they’ll come to their senses and come out with a turbo or three-rotor model to give it a boost.
Well, the problem is, you’re using a crappy car as your standard. The Acura TL is a fine family car with a little spunk. It’s far from a real sport sedan. In fact, the Nissan Maxima is a far better sports sedan, and it’s still front-wheel drive.
If you really want a sports sedan to drive that will change your mind, go test drive an Infinity G35. It will illustrate the stark contrast between a pretender like the Acura TL and a contender.
And of course, that’s without even going expensive, like the BMW 5-series, and the Mercedes’ that makes you feel dirty (possibly with good reason!)

Love it! Great car! But too much on the road right now. And I would love to have the Toyota Supra, that is one sweet ride.[/quote]
Sweet ride. What kind of wheels? Im looking at a set of Maya DTM’s for mine.
Heh heh - It was a great price, in great condition and it’s fine for what I need if maybe a little big. I’ll get something really nice when I have my physio clinic. That’s only 5years or so away!
