I touch my chest to the floor… range of motion
In the Canadian military you have to be able to do 20 pushes with with your elbows tucked into your body going all the way up and all the way down just to get in. If you flare your elbows out they kick your arms out on you and tell you to start over again.

My favorite kind of push-up.

Mine too, but it is definitely NOT standard.

I don’t hold military standards in high regard.
I dated a girl who was in the army, and she explained to me how she could do over 50 flutter kicks…
Until you’ve seen a flutter kick, you’re perception of the army will probably be alot higher than it should be.[/quote]
lol. why be such a hater?
first, you dated a GIRL in the military, they have greatly different standards when it comes to physical fitness.
Do me a favor, go ahead and pump out as many pushups as you can in two minutes, wait ten, then do as many situps, (not crunches) as you can in two minutes, wait ten more, and go run two miles as fast as you can. Do the PU’s and SU’s with good form, and report back to this thread with your numbers, and don’t lie. I’ll let you know how you did comprable to our low “military standards”.
i’m a fat ass so im not gona do it but id like to know ur numbers lol
I just did a PT test actually. Two days ago.
Did 65 pushups, 70 situps, and 15:10 two mile run. Comes out to a score of 252 out of 300.
You need 180 and a minumum of 60 on each event to pass.
For my age group (im 26), I need 40 PU’s, 50 SU’s, and 16:36 2-mile to pass.
I need 75 PU’s, 80 SU’s, and a 13:00 2-mile to max, or get 300.
I did alright. Not my best, by far, but I haven’t been training for a PT test at all in the last 6 months. Been lifting heavy, and running maybe 5-8 minutes a day.
