What Do you BB Military Press (No Leg Drive)?

160x8, 195x3

standing, strict - no leaning back, no leg drive. And no belt

back when I used to train my upper body, all I do is squat these days

close grip benching helps em a lot, I could close grip bench 295lbs back then with no arch or leg drive. The ratio between the 2 lifts has always been around 70% for me

hit 65kg/145lbs for 5x5 today.

no idea what sort of single number i could throw up.

80kg/176 pounds strict @ 115kgBW
Military press really irritates the hell out of my shoulders, so I can’t go real heavy on this.

2 weeks ago I hit a PR on seated BB press past my chin (around 3-4 inches from my chest) of 205 pounds. I’m usually good for 185 for 3 or 4. Can’t wait for 225

215x5 strict press.

Did 125 for 5, 5, 3 the other day, have done 140 for the same in the past when I was heavier. Guessing my 1RM is 155 or a little more. Always been a lift I’ve had trouble making progress on, as opposed to seated dumbbell pressing.

did a one arm press of 88lbs with a kettlebell at 176lbs bodyweight for a PR.

Strict press is 255x1
Seated is 225x6

In comparison to 275x6 close grip bench and 315x5 bench.

This has been my best so far…

175x1
That was a little over a month ago at a BW of about 180. I think its decently strict. I got it again a little easier in a subsequent workout.

I’ve wanted a strict BW press for awhile and feel I’m almost there. Actually, I haven’t overhead pressed much since then and my bench has shot up…so I think I could get it now. Hmmm…might have to try next time.

push press 135x4

I was told i can used more leg drive, my drive is not good enough, i need more explosion on my drive…that was i was told.

Anyway not strong vs some numbers here!

It’s relatively new internet slang… I admittedly had to look it up, too.

ā€œLike, duh. Obviously.ā€ [Apparently]

Thanks, Affliction!

I just had my first old person moment, I think. I’m only 24 though…damn kids and their…rap music.

You motherbitch! You’re 24?

I need to start eating more. Maybe I should get a place nearer to my gym.

I do my last set with 185 3-5. Many people are reluctant to do a max with this exercise because its an easy one to get injured with.

Motherbith?! LMAO! I am putting that in my verbal arsenal and using it immediately.

Damn. Nice.

How’s yout shoulder development in relation to your chest?

what is considered ā€œstrictā€

% ROM used here varies very highly, i believe.

135 clean for reps and push press 175.I like this lift alot.

185 with a grip a little less than my bench, from below my chin.

295- push press or log more

Chump weight- 225 is my best ever. I think shove more up but my instability and lack of coordination would probably no allow it. But pin presses from ear height, I have hit 315 for a double.
