Ok today was ok.

I feel my womanhood is destroying me with uncomfortable amounts of hormones right now so I kinda felt out of it and super tired .
Honestly, I’ve been sleeping for 9hrs a night for almost two weeks now.

I dunno if it’s just because I’m work from home now and I’m finally able to shut my brain off or if I’m a little down in the mouth. Maybe it’s both.
Also, never taking 3 rest days off again , lol. That was too long and some reps I felt like I forgot to squat

To toot my own routines horn here is something I was thinking about:

6 months ago I paused squat 185 for singles
Now I’m doing it for 5s and paused 205lbs for singles

Deadlifted 235 in Oct for slow as fuck single
Repped 230 x 6 today and 260 for a fast single
Front squatted 140 x 1 few months back now 140 x 5 and 155 x 1
Had a hard time 8 weeks ago with 120lbs paused bench for 2. Almost missed the second rep. Knew to back off and build back up now I can do it for volume without a spot or any struggles

8 months ago I did a horrible military press for 80lbs x 4. Now I did 4 x 4 with ease .

My program allows me to make decisions based on feel of the day , but always offers the opportunity to progress in some way.
Progression is slow, but always there , and nothing is ever too daunting to handle.

Volume lifts can progress into top sets with back offs and then done the next month for 2 sets, then volume .

I don’t ever really feel overly beat up, and my workouts, though never a test of my strength , are always fun, and they offer the opportunity to either progress by volume , weight or reps on any given day.

This makes me sad. I love being with women and having friendships with women. It’s a different dynamic than my friendship with my husband. It also seems more rewarding as I age. Most of the best laughter has been with my women friends.

I so agree. I love my girls. A neighbor runs sap lines on land we own, and yesterday we worked with them, then had lunch and a couple of beers in the sugar house*. It was me and five men and it was fine, but not anything like laughing until I cry with my girlfriends. A couple of topics I might cover with them that I would never talk to yesterday’s crew about:

Exactly. There’s just something about the company of women. I’m sure it’s the same for men. There’s just a different atmosphere. Maybe it just has to do with living life in a similar skin.

Front squats are the hardest thing for me to increase. I did 145 x 2 first and chickened out on the 3rd, rested , got mad, told myself I came here to do something and I’m gonna do it. Then did my 2 sets of 3. Its just an upper back thing too, my legs are like dude , this is light…

Anyway , had a complete emotional breakdown yesterday .
I’m like 5 days late for my period and usually when my cycle lingers on like this all the days past the date I’m supposed to start are a hormonal nightmare.
I started crying about all the things that guy from work said to me . Like, I let him convince me everyone at work dislikes me, I have an ugly walk, poor taste in everything, I’m a horrible rapper and shouldn’t feel joy from it or do it for fun, I shouldn’t try new things because I’ll just fail, yadda yadda, and still let him sleep with me… AFTER those things are said.
Wtf is wrong with me !?

So then I’m bawling driving home from the gym and call in sick for work…

I died my hair blonde, went to see an osteopath, went for 2 walks and took my kid out for a really nice dinner.

Probably the best mental health day I could have done, to be honest. I feel better today .
I didnt feel guilty for it , and I actually did things that boosted my spirits .

In my reflective state I realized I need to make some life changes .

Because I’ve always been alone, and my son can’t really tell me to cut back on the OCD habits, I’m totally enabled to be as obsessive as I want to be.
I have time off around my birthday, I should take my son to the mountains, but instead I’m like um, no, I must workout instead .
My whole life is about planning optimal workouts and massages and recovery . I plan nothing that actually is for true life happiness .

Like my shrink said, I’m like 110 percent in some good areas of my life, but 0 percent in others. They all need to be more balanced out. I’m not gonna be as fulfilled as I could be if all I plan are workouts.

About the front squats try to lead with your elbows coming out of the hole. Let the elbow go up against the ceiling.
