It’s about time for me to start cutting again. Do any of you know some foods that discourage fat deposition, and encourage fat loss? Im going low carb approx 50/g carb a day w/ one carb up day by the way.
Anything green and leafy is a good idea. Roughage will fill you up and it doesn’t have a whole lot of carbs to it. And what little carbs it does have is mostly dietary fiber, which isn’t absorbed anyway. Spinach, broccoli, greens, brussel sprouts (ugh), etc.
There’s some evidence that capsaicin has thermogenic qualities, but to what extent I’m not sure. MD6 has worked very well for me, but it’s not food, rather a supplement. Search the T-Mag site for diet info if you haven’t yet, there’s a wealth of info here.
Buritto: The so-called “thermogenic” foods are the “hot” ones; Hot peppers and their sauces (e.g. Cayenne, Tabasco, etc.)They have been found to slighly elevate basal metabolism (thus should IN THEORY increase fat burning). However, these things aren’t for everybody! (I love hot sauce and peppers!)
Mufasa - then I should have a metabolism that is through the roof! I am growing several types of peppers and just yesterday canned my first yearly batch of my own salsa. I have a severe love for spicy, hot, fiery foods. It must be my red hair. ![]()
mustard
Fiber helpsshuttle fat through your system. You said that you’re only getting 50g carb per day. Well a good fiber supp like psyllium husk or even Kellogs Barn Buds will go a long way. Bran Buds are 14g fiber/serving with 12gcarb/serving
Medium chain triglicerides, and most carbohydrates
So let me get this straight, Ironbabe. You work out, have red hair, and love spicy food? I suppose you have green eyes and like Harleys, too. Reminds me of Mom (sniff).
Ironbabe, red hair? I don’t think the Irish were known for their consumption of chile peppers
Anyone who likes spicy food is cool in my book! Got any habaneros growin?
Coconut oil. That’s what’s in MCT oil. It burns fat like a mother!
(grin) Actually I have blue eyes - and I am not a fan of motorcycles. I was a full blown metal chick in the eighties, but I’m much more tame now. As for the red hair, it is natural, but I don’t look like the “usual” redhead. I don’t have freckles, and I can get a deep tan. Many people have suggested that I must dye my hair since I have the complexion of a blonde or brunette with light to medium red hair on top. Oh heck, I can’t explain myself well, when my pics go up at the end of august you guys will just see for yourselves.
Well, I’m a bit of a mutt. I’ve got irish, scottish and I’m 1/8th cherokee indian. Someone in my family line must have loved peppers. ![]()
