welp its done I am tired and my hands are bloody so it was a good day, lol
Well 4 people showed up in my class
first event Medely farmers walk 100ft (240per hand) followed by tire flip 700lb 5 flips
I got 21’ 7" I think, deff a PR good enough for 2nd in my class, winner completed the farmers with no flips of the tire.
2nd event 12" log 220lbs for reps
PR is 195 so I was gonna give it a shot
the two people that went before me didn’t get it so I didn’t have much pressure
clean went easy! so thats a pr for sure, got a little drive the log actually got it to about my head, triceps ain’t up to par yet though, no press
Ended up cleaning it 3 times, 0 points still in 2nd by 1 point Winner came and did 1 rep and walked away for the win, I was the closest to lockout out of the other 3 but a zero is still a zero.
3rd event axle deadlift, this was supposed to be 450lbs from 18" they ended up using 500lbs from about 14-15" id say, the diffrence between 15" and 18" is HUGE for me cause from 18" I can hook my knees under the bar and ramp the shit out of the bar.
well this was a HEAVY pull none of the 200lbers got it, the one guy said he was a 500lb puller from the floor … the Apollons axle has NO flex in the bar, NONE I need to get one to train with, WAY diffrent than my axle.
4th event semi truck pull 60ft
I got it in 28seconds, was setup wrong at the start and my stubby legs can only move so fast! got 3rd overall.
Winner got it in 24.2 I think for his 3rd event win, 2nd was 24.7 or so.
droped a point to move into a tie for 2nd
5th and last event keg load. 3 kegs loaded onto 55 gallon race fuel drums 200lb keg set at 30ft away 250lb set at 20ft away 275 set at 10ft away
Guy tied with me went and dug deep and put the pressure on me by getting all 3 kegs in 45 seconds or so.
Two weeks before I couldn’t even lift the 250lb keg up so was a little nervous.
went ripped the 200 right off the ground, moving pretty quick with it, went for the 250, picked it right up fairly easy, loaded it, at this point I think I was faster than the other guy, went to pick the 275, got it part of the way but my grip slipped trying to set it into my lap and past my knee, tore my callouses, couldn’t regroup after that, almost puked… ended up with 2 kegs in I don’t know how long and finished 3rd overall missing out on a trip to nationals by 1 point
I really wish I would have got a lift in the log or the axle, as that would have been good for atleast 3 or 4 points where others got zero and would have put me in the drivers seat.
Oh well all lifts where PRs pretty much so I am happy overall but it is kind of bittersweet.
