Did you ever watch a video and just sit there thinking to yourself “Damn, I’ve got room for improvement…”

That video just leaves me in awe and is one of my favorites. Did you read travis’s stats?

“Travis decided to make a comeback in Olympic lifting at the age of 33, which most Olympic lifting ?experts? say is impossible. Now that is bad-ass. He has elite status in the 198, 220 and 242 pound weight classes. His best lifts include a 970 squat, 705 bench press and an 804 deadlift; all done in the 220lbs class. He made history at the 2004 GNC Show of Strength by totaling 2414.”

He was listed in the training logs at EFS until recently. I’m not sure what happened there.

outstanding work on the squats and step ups!

Rep day

warmup
50 kb swings

Box squat (14")
175x5
205x5
235x5
265x5
295x4,1 (rep PR)

Deficit DL (4")
235x5
275x5
315x5
345x5
395x2,2

Notes: I’m just not bringin’ it today. Form on DL is improving but I just feel worn out even after three days with no lifting. Cutting it short.

When you have 3 misses and just keep going, that is some nice determination. Looks like you “dug in” for that.

Good job, damn kg’s though!

Hey, I posted in this form when it first started but got sidetracked since then. I train powerlifting but its mostly to increase my strength for sport. Probably get more serious into powerlifting once my competitive sport career is over. I probably won’t share every workout but I’ll try to get the majority on here. I really enjoy reading this thread so I figure why not share. I’m six foot six and weigh about 250 pounds right now, yah I know, not your typical powerlifter built lol… anyways…

ME Lower June 4th

Parallel Box Squat

225-5
275-3

385-1
400-1

Power Cleans

245-1
275-miss… will get it next time around

Back Extension

Sit ups

Then I called it a day, probably do some calf stuff tommorow

upper ME June 4th 07

Its official now going from Gimp/Post Op to the COME BACK!!!, slow road but rollin

Was good idea to a few days off just needed the rest whole body was aching. Also trying some new diet stuff ultra high carb days for training LOW carb for non just to mix it up a bit.

1A) OH Fat DB Clean and Press
(Bad Arm OH press Blue band x 8-10 (9 sets) strict and slow) PRESS lock out still tight.
Strict
35 x lot
55 x 8
75 x 5
95 x 3
105 x 4 (1 rep PR) last one LONG lock out
115 x 1

Push press
130 x Miss 5 lb PR attempt
need to warm up on my pushes instead of jumping from strict straight for Push PR attempt
115 x 4

strict/push
85 x 8/5 nice progress

1B) one arm Pull down
bad arm red band pull down x 10 (9 sets) strict and slow
2warm ups
145 x 4 (6 sets)
Bumped it a rep each set
120 x 6 (3 sets)

2A) Cable press (bad arm red band press)
These are kind of like an extreme ROM decline press I lean against a pole to avoid using body weight
70 x 12
100 x 8 (2 sets)

2B) DB Row (bad arm 35 lbs x )
130 x 5
90 x some 2 sets

2C)
Bench reverse crunches
3sets

Light band work on tri?s bis and lat raise call it All in all OK strict press getting stronger

clean with this Fat DB is a killer I assisted it on the 115 and up today.

Dieing to get a barbell or Log in my hands and Press something substantial, have to really PRESS that lock out on bad arm, tendon still tight and have to force it or I will stop short of lock out, its like adding 10 lbs to any press

Phill

Today’s workout:
DE upper
Speed bench
57.5kg/127lbs 8 sets of 3reps

3 board press
60kg 1x6reps
80kg 1x6reps
100kg 1x6reps
112.5kg/247.5lbs 1x6reps

Lat pull downs
35kg 1x10
49kg 1x10
42kg 1x10
56kg 1x10
(lightweight on pulldowns, not done them in a while. Will hit them hard in the coming weeks)

lateral raises
6kg 1x12
7kg 1x12

Lat machine abs
15kg 1x15
20kg 1x15
25kg 1x15
25kg 1x15

This was the third and final day of a detox,(been eating shit recently so needed to purify myself.lol). That made the pr on the board press all the sweeter as i basically have lived off hardly any calories for the past 2 days. Just been on water and freshly jusiced fruits and vegatables!

Looking forward to getting back to a regular diet, less the junk i was eating before.

ME Bench M0nday 06-04-07

Warmup/Prehab

  • Shoulder Horn 15lbs - 2 x 12
  • #2 Band Presses - 30

BB Floor Press
135 x 15
185 x 7
185 x 8

Well since I was still not recovered from Friday, the rest of the workout was just 50 Rep band work:

  • Lat pulldowns
  • Rear delt pulldowns
  • piston pushdowns
  • tri extensions
  • curls

06/05/07 - Deadlift (ME)

A) Deadlift (Conventional)
barx10
135x10 (speed)
225x8
315x5
405x3
455x3x3!

B) Seated Hamstring Curl
130x12
160x12
165x12
170x12! (PR)

C) T-Bar Row
45x6
90x5
135x5
180x5x5

D) Face Pulls (wide grip)
100x10
130x10
130x10

Legs were a bit shot today after ME Squat yesterday, but I can’t train on Friday, so I ended up pulling today.

I probably haven’t done T-Bar rows since college (early 90’s), so the first few sets were just trying to figure out the right weight. They felt good, but need to get used to the position a little more.

Overall, good day, just wish my legs were a little more rested for the deads.

I agree, except it seems you’ve been making a comeback sense the day after you got injured!

Empire State Qualifier:

Here’s a video of my team, Lost Battalion Hall, at the Empire State Games Qualifier. I appear first on the video with my 75kg PR snatch attempt. I took 60kg and 65kg before that.

Later in the video, after the girl(Jessica Farrera; 5th ranked 69kg female in the country), is my first clean and jerk. I took 90kg. This was a bit tough as I had tweaked my right arm in the warm-up. I then failed to lock out 95kg, also because of the right arm. My last attempt (not filmed), I fucked up the clean.
