Well today sucked, really bad not the kind of day I need less than two weeks out.

keg carry and load (20-25ft?)

200 keg loaded twice, 2nd run 14 seconds

couldn’t even pick the 250lber wierd becuase I picked it up off the ground before we started? I dunno i’ve picked up a stone that is heavier.

farmers

215 hold 15 second realized wtf am I doing?

215xcrap probalt 15ft

I did 205x95 the other week, my hands fell like shit I am going to put them in a bucket of ice or something.

So the meet director told me that if there was a misload, it is my responsibility to catch it.

Therefore, I only deadlifted 512.5 on my final attempt.

I can’t even tell you to what end this angers me.

KO421, Phill -

Thanks guys.

Awesome job on the tire flips Phill. When you get both wings up to par that tire is gonna do double flips.

KO421 - Good luck on your your comp. I’ll bet you surprise yourself (in a good way) on the log press.

Thats a bunch of bs man, the last thing I would want to be worrying about is if someone loaded the bar wrong, just use it as fuel and bust a pr

Thanks man, If I can get a good clean and I don’t waste to much energy my press has been felling strong.

Chalk it up bro we all have them bad days that is

On the kegs have you done them much/ Like stones man its a LOT technique. Me having done stones well one time it was hard as hell where as the kegs I was smoking through just to having done them a lot. In the matter of just a few training session going form fighting a 300lb keg with everything I had to do it once to nailin it 5 times in less then 35 seconds load and unload.

You might consider just LIGHT work on technique since your this close

Event/conditioning May 26th

LIL sled draggin warm up 70 lb x a lot of feet
Then also did some light rehab work for warm up wanted to do some compounds with BOTH arms!!!
BB Oh press bar x 20, 65 x 20 x 2
Lat p-down 50 x 20, 70 x 20 x 2

  1. One arm 400lb tire flippin, 25 reps
    Old PR time 2:27
    new time = 2:12:52
Nice getting closer to that 2 min mark

  2. yoke walk 50 feet first time with these
    335 x 2runs no drops
    425 x 2 runs no drops
    Put on belt
515 x 2 runs 2 drops on second run clean on first
    605 x 10 feet LOL

I was just beat easily got it up just couldn?t keep core uber tight any more so it got to swinging.
All In all happy with these for a first time and hey welding held great. Its all about the start get rolling nice and slow and smooth and they don?t swing

3)1 arm Medley
Suit case carry 190 lbs (35 lb DB in gimp hand)
1 arm DB OH carry 80;bs
Back ward sled drag 95 without the weight of the tire and wheel.
This was light but after the yoke that?s all good will up loads next time
1st run 52 second
2nd run 45 second

  1. Mop up
    1 set burpies x 15
1 set BB OH press bar x 30
    1 sets lat pull down 70 x 30
    3 sets cable abs

All in all good w/o took about 90 mins. I swear half my w/o is getting out and loading the implements alone etc etc Im really non stop doing something 6 plates here 4 there move the tire here that there LOL

Think my conditioning is getting good though tire time evident of that wasted 5 or so seconds re chalking and catching breath should have tried to keep rollin

Happy with my yoke effort 515 on a chain yoke for 50 feet not to shabby for first ever time I think ill skip some of the warm ups next time and try to get to the 600 sooner had no prob getting it up holding it it was just moving suckle was a swinging like a pair of?

Cheers all

Exactally…I really think it would have made things easier if they announced the weights in kilos and pounds.

I look forwards to destroying both of those.

Good luck in the comp!

Yeah I was a little pissed off earlier today but Its all good now, just one of those days where you fell off, I think my hands just need a break, busted some blood vessels in my hands on the farmers, nice…

Never done kegs before so yea I shouldnt have expected to blaze threw them… contest is 200,250,275 to 40" from 30ft away I don’t have any kegs but I might try to hit them up one more time before the comp.

Gentlemen,

I thought I’d be able to finish this whole thread before my training tomorrow…didn’t happen that way.

I’ll totally say that this seems to be right up my mental alley…meaning it seems you have to be a little crazy, and man I’m so there.

I also like the fact that each workout you’re going to get a new PR (95% of the time, anyway). I like that a lot.

So I thought I’d throw my plan out to you all to critique/tear apart before I do it. I’m not sure about the reps though…I’ve looked at some logs here and many people seem to have ME reps on DE days, sometimes. So some help with reps (and anything else, of course), would be appreciated.

Anyway, for tomorrow (Tuesday evening):

DE Bench

Incline Bench: 8x3
DB rotating skullcrushers: 3x8
Standing Mil. Presses: 3x8
Chinups: max out on bodyweight (maybe 3 sets of 10, I guess)

RE work:
1-arm rows: 1x50
Machine shoulder press: 1x50.

Wed: ME Squat

*notes: I understand the first movement rep scheme well enough…but I’m clueless about the rest.

Back Squat
RDL’s:
Lower back: ???
Abs: standing cable crunches

RE work:
45 degree leg press
Laying hamstring curls

Thur: Off. will do some sets of 1x100 or 2x50 for chest and arms…then some sprints (maybe a total of 200 meters).

Friday:

ME Bench:

notes: Again, not sure about rep scheme for the exercises after the money exercise..help, please?

Flat BB Press
Tri Pushdowns
Standing BB Rows
Lat Pulldown

RE: Biceps 1x50
RE: Chest: laying cable flies 1x50

Sat: DE Squat/DL

Again, not sure of rep scheme after the money exercise

Box Squat (parallel) 10x2
Hams: Ham Curls
Low Back: ???

RE: Calves.

Again, I’m a noob at this type of training and would appreciate any help with reps and suggested exercises. I have read a considerable amount of articles at elite and here, but still have many to go…but the time to act is now, and I don’t want to hesitate anymore.

Goal: To be the strongest guy I can be at my bodyweight.

Thanks again,

AD

A helpful tip I received was to bring a kilo/lbs cheat sheet. But, what I would love to have is a handler to take care of that shit for me. Being such a rookie, it is hard to listen for my name , wrap my shit, and get focused.

Actually, it is the responsibility of whomever called “bar loaded.” If they were running off loading charts, it is the head ref, if they had a platform manager, then it was that person.

The fact is had you noticed at the meet you should have been awarded another attempt. However, sometimes getting a 3rd pull is hard enough. 4th attempts typically aren’t a good deal…

The bottom line is that the score cards should be used to determine this because that is what is used to communicate your attempts to the platform.

Did you find out what your score card says?

FWIW, I reviewed the video and it did look to me like a 2.5K plate as opposed to a 5K, but I can’t say that with absolute certainty b/c of the video quality.

Good meet anyway you look at it though, dude. Sometimes your the bat, sometimes your the ball…

Yea, they had those sheets lying around. I didn’t really have a handler though…just my buddy who gives me hand-offs in the gym sometimes.

Definitely won’t make that mistake again, though.

Yeah, the guy I train with was smoking the kegs, did a run 200 250 300 about 20 ft away in just over 30 seconds.

I just didn’t fell good yesterday, on a good day I am sure I could atleast pick the 250 up, if not load it.

Thanks
