Weird, but impressive

Bonus day today. No program, just pull-ups. Main reason for even going at all today was because my kid wanted to start up again after the long corona layoff, so I have him squatting and benching to see where he was at. Little shithead actually go strong by doing nothing the past four months, but I guess that is the advantage of being 15.

Any, here’s some pull-ups. Just work, not trying to accomplish anything specific.

I don’t understand your weight progressions… 11.3, 15.9? What the hell kind of weights are you using? Those aren’t even numbers in kgs or lbs.

Also, what’s “5 reps 42”?

He works in mysterious ways

25 lbs plate.

35 lbs plate.

And so on.
So apperantly his gym has lbs plates and he lists the kg equivalent.

He’s a good man. Probably tired of converting everything to bald eagles by cheeseburgers

There’s a reason @Cyrrex refers to @guineapig as hamster :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I don’t get that.

Well well… the US aren’t the only country that can’t figure out the metric system. They are in good company with Myanmar and Liberia.
That’s it. For everyone that didn’t previously know that.

Hah, sorry. The 5 reps 42 is because i forget to remove the 42 when I copied it from my tracking app. The app awards points for stuff.

But the rest is as explained above. Those were all done in pounds, but my app converts them to kilo.

I did the math for one of the jumps and he increased the weight 4.6kgs or 10.12 lbs. Neither made sense to me.

He’s trying to confuse the muscles

That was a 25 plate going to a 35 plate. Rounding error. Or maybe a fly landed on it.

I like that Freedom units make us stronger than you guys with your metrics.

Two Plates in kilos is 220 lbs. Two plates in Freedom units is 225 lbs.

But if you start using 25 kg plates then it really throws off all of my meat head math.

I was disappointed the first time I learned that an Americans 2 plate bench was stronger than mine!

Wait, why does your gym have played in lbs out here in Europe? I thought that was just a Canadian thing?

My gym in Shanghai had lb plates so they could claim to own “High end plates imported from the US “

Do the low end plates not also make you stronger? Maybe this is where I’ve been going wrong, I’ve been using the cheap plates.

The placebo effect is real :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Yeah, it has both. Tons of old Eleiko plates and other bumper plates all in kilo, but then the usual cheaper gym standard plates which are all in pounds. And I daresay all of the cable machines are in pounds, I think that is quite normal for some reason. I use the pound plates for weighted dips and PUs because they have a handle on them to loop the chain through, instead of having to loop them through the middle of the plate. Less nutsack poundage that way.

Sorry for all the math guys, I never meant it to happen.
