Hah, I probably coulda taken a better picture if I cared enough to. But I knew I wasn’t going to win anything, and I only care about the asthetics to a certain extent anyway. I know it is antithetical for some, but I care way more about relative strength and athleticism when I am dropping weight. And even kinda when gaining weight.

Besides which, I am old. My best looks are more along the lines of ā€œover the hill pro wrestler who drinks too muchā€ or ā€œMMA fighter in the off seasonā€ I am okay with that.

Can still feel my shitty deadlifts in my upper back and in my hammies, just enough to remind me that I need to keep these on the agenda ever now and then.

Did some moderate push pressing today, kinda thinking of these next few sessions as a bit of a deload. Body needs a brief respite. 75 kilo still feels heavy as shit on this bar, damn. The lack of flex makes it feel like I am push pressing a boulder.

What about staggered-stance RDL? That’s what I did in lockdown. You use ā€œone legā€ but it puts the same pressure on your back. had crazy feelings in the glutes and hammies

Given the 10x10 squats, I’m not sure if you meant ā€œold-ass nervesā€ or ā€œold ass-nervesā€ but both make sense.

Didn’t take it quite as easy as planned, because I was kinda feeling good. But still not too stressful, because I only did 10 sets total. Felt pretty good with the top set, because it tells me I haven’t lost too much actual strength in my chest over the last 3 months. The last three sets weren’t originally planned to be a 353, but I just sorta did them anyway.

Went a few rounds with Bob as well. I know Bob is used mostly as a joke here in my log, but in the real world it’s serious business. Feel like my kicks are starting to get scary powerful*, and I think it has a lot to do with the different kind of leg work I have been forced to do during the apocalpyse.

*I’m sure it looks more like Drunken Donkey Boxing, but let me have my fantasies.
