Weird, but impressive

I haven’t had a specific plan since December, beyond dropping weight. And it isn’t like I need a PLAN plan, but I do need to at least figure out a direction. And a specific little goal here or there would be nice.

Given the circumstance, cutting seems to be the best option. You’re not really having to worry about eating enough for recovery with your home workouts. Once things return to normal, you might want to lift heavy and that’s no time for a caloric deficit.

That’s essentially what I have been doing, but now I feel like I am getting close to the bottom of this cut - if for no other reason than I am tired of it. Which does not mean I can go the other direction yet, because as you hint at I don’t really have the equipment to support that. Need to figure out what to do in the meantime. I mean, I will do the basics, but I need to spice it up. That’s why I did that dumb little HSPU/Lever challenge a few weeks ago. Just to aim for something. One option is to do more of these 350 sets, because I have enough weights to actually progress that sort of thing quite a bit. Was also considering aiming for a set of 10 MUs, but if I say it out loud I will feel committed.

And by gods, if the gyms open up to a state where I can actually use it, I am going to do some serious shit. Possibly. And also eat a shitton of meat.

I know how you feel. That was me last year.

A possible sign from the heavens, I don’t know if it is an omen of things to come: I just made a big ass lasagne. Just for me. Man, I have not had lasagne in years.

Day C+50

No test results back either for the ex or the boy. They both seem to be doing fine, so I still expect it is nothing. But they have to be locked down until they get the results, and now because of the weekend it will probably be Monday. I actually had to go out and buy her some groceries today. Also her birthday tomorrow, so that is pretty sucky for her. Meanwhile, I swear I have an imaginary dry cough developing now.

Bit out of sorts today in general, so I decided it was a day to show Bob what the situation was. Been a couple weeks. Maybe that is my problem, I need to step up the cardio, whether that be more Bob and/or (gasp) a bit of running.

Homemade lasagne is the best.

Hope the test results come back negative.

I made lasagna a couple days ago, Garfield would have been proud! That’s power food right there.

I made enough that it will be food for four days. Spinach based lasagne noodles, ricotta, mozzerella, homemade sauce. So tasty. Did I mention it is awesome cold? Had it cold for lunch, so good.

I just bought a big one from the supermarket. Good enough. Something about lasagne ey?

Day C+51

Leg day. Decided to go another round with those Langskib Launcher, instead of having to load up regular squats and have to be limited by my ability to BtN press the bar (or get stuck).

Did them from a deficit this time, stood up on my blocks to make the ROM perfectly parallel (thighs). And then made it a 350 set because how hard could it be?

  • Deficit Langskib Launcher (dumbbell)

    • 22 kg x 6 reps
    • 32 kg x 6 reps
    • 42 kg x 6 reps
    • 52 kg x 6 reps
    • 62 kg x 20 reps (PR)
    • 62 kg x 18 reps
    • 62 kg x 15 reps
  • Barbell Bulgarian Split Squat

    • 5 kg x 5 reps
    • 15 kg x 5 reps
    • 25 kg x 5 reps
    • 35 kg x 5 reps (PR)
    • 15 kg x 10 reps

The answer is “quite fucking hard”. What an interesting exercise. Turned my legs into rubber, and it worked my lower back something fierce. The only thing I can compare it to is like it is doing a squat and a semi-sumo deadlift at the same time, except the grip is much more difficult for the given weight.

Added the Bulgarians on against my better judgement, because I was already tired. But wanted to try them with the barbell. Gotta work on the balance before I dare put more weight on it.

It is one of my top 5 favs, and yet I never eat it. I am stupid.

I’ve like two dozen favourite foods lol. What does ur top 5 look like?

If I had to keep it a simple list (because there are varieties of stuff) and we are just talking about stuff that makes a “meal”, it would be in no particular order:

-Pizza
-Lasagne
-Chinese (spicy, szechuan style, etc.)
-Chicken Madras (or similar)
-A well prepared cheeseburger

I was going to put Beer as the last one, but that isn’t a meal. Except sometimes it totally is =)

We have a saying here: 6 beers is also a Schnitzel.

The translation (not using beers “equals”…) is on purpose because I’m trying to translate humor

Translation not necessarily, that’s hilarious.

Nice work on those langskib launchers and good to see the name catching on

The combination of the LLs and Bulgarians seems to make a pretty good all around leg workout. For hypertrophy, anyway.

Day C+52

Titty Time. Tried the floor presses with the barbell for the first time. And…meh. I think I like them better with the DBs. The ROM here is a bit strange for me, and getting it into position is a bit tough as well. So I decided to stop where I did, then hustled down to the playground to do a bunch of dips.

  • Barbell Floor Press

    • 25 kg x 8 reps
    • 35 kg x 8 reps
    • 45 kg x 8 reps
    • 55 kg x 8 reps
    • 65 kg x 8 reps
    • 75 kg x 10 reps (PR)
  • Dips - Chest Version

    • 10 reps
    • 10 reps
    • 25 reps
    • 20 reps
    • 15 reps
    • 15 reps
    • 12 reps
    • 12 reps
    • 12 reps
    • 10 reps
  • Muscle-Up

    • 2 reps

Add in some enchiladas or some equally greasy mexican food, and you’ve got yourself a pretty good night here.

And by enchiladas, I mean the cheap shit packet stuff you buy in supermarkets and cover in cheese, I don’t want anything even remotely authentic

You poor thing. Nothing better than homemade TexMex enchiladas. All that chili and cheese. Mmmm…
