Weird, but impressive

Yeah, this is probably the closest. I actually pondered afterwards if I should stand up on some blocks, but I think the ROM is already okay with the DB. But I do agree that we have a rare opportunity now to name it something we like. I do not even know what ā€œlangskipā€ means, but we can consider it as an option.

I am sore in a way today that most resembles having done a bunch of squats for the first time in 7 weeks. So this is a pretty okay squat variation.

Thigh Thrashers?

Potentially a made up word, lost in translation or my history memory is not what it was. I thought this was the word for a Viking warship.

Ahhh…flip the P. Langskib.

lol so I am not completely stupid yet then. :joy::joy:

Give it a couple more years. But yeah, Langskib Launchers is a contender. Good mix of stupid sounding but also sorta accurate.

My boy is over doing some Deficit Langskib Launchers just now.

Day C+45

Basically just an arms day. The pull-ups are only an attempt to finish my arms off. I did a unlogged bunch of bounce off the floor PUs as well to make them burn (these also need a name, they are quite good). I already feel the inches being added.

Those Langskib Launchers looked good.
@simo74 where the hell have you ever heard about those.

The boats or the exercise !! I have never seen the exercise before, or if I have it was being done by a cute girl and filed from behind for IG.
We did a little viking history back at school. There were parts of East Anglia on the east coast of England that were invaded by vikings back somewhere around 700-900AD. I thought I remembered the name because in my mind it translates to long ship, probably why I spelt it with a ā€˜p’ and not a ā€˜b’.

And that is the correct translation long ship.

Pretty cool you remembered that.

Day C+46

Boobies day, but kept it simple. This is basically a warmup, and then a 350 set at 30 kilo, and another 350 set at 22 kilo. Harder than I thought it was going to be (especially the first one), but still hit 53 reps on both.

Dumbbell Floor Press

  • 22 kg x 6 reps
  • 22 kg x 6 reps
  • 26 kg x 6 reps
  • 30 kg x 6 reps
  • 30 kg x 20 reps
  • 30 kg x 18 reps
  • 30 kg x 15 reps
  • 22 kg x 20 reps
  • 22 kg x 18 reps
  • 22 kg x 15 reps

2 days later, and I still have DOMS from those Langskib Launchers.

Off day today. Probably had the energy to do something today, but lacked the time. The shitty 120cm bar came in today. Kinda a mixed bag…the bar itself is pretty solid, all things considered. I mean, it was cheap as hell. But I sorta miscalculated how much weight I can get on it. Can probably only squeeze about 68, maybe 70 kilo on it safely, in large part due to the fact that I have a bunch of 2 kilo plates from the DBs that take up so much space on the bar. My lizard brain wants to to put more weight on. On the other hand, not sure it is worth it the bother at this point, nor if I really need to. Have already spent quite a bit more than planned on all this, and it is shitty stuff so I don’t want to keep pouring cash into it. Despite my constant bitching, I feel I have been managing okay through all this bullshit.

It’s a thinker.

Just keep it as is, for know use what you can.
When it gets better find a pair of 20 kg plates and you’re good.
OR go all in and buy a real BB and plates.

That 2 x 350 set, no wonder you’re titties hurt a bit. One set should be enough.

I actually found some dude selling a couple 10 kilo plates really cheap, so I jumped on it. Now it is…satisfactory. For now.

The 350 sets didn’t actually hurt, it was just kinda hard. No DOMS the day after. So actually, it wasn’t enough. I have to go full hypertrophy with these smaller weights, so I probably need to push it even harder.

Day C+48

First day using my new El Cheapo bar. Few things about it take some getting used to, but the main thing is how compact it is with these 25mm iron plates. It looks small, feels heavy. Shoulda been a pulling day, but I missed pressing so much I just had to. HAD TO.

  • Standing Barbell Shoulder Press (OHP)

    • 25 kg x 8 reps
    • 29 kg x 8 reps
    • 35 kg x 8 reps
    • 39 kg x 8 reps
    • 45 kg x 8 reps
    • 51 kg x 8 reps
    • 57 kg x 8 reps
    • 61 kg x 8 reps
    • 45 kg x 10 reps
    • 45 kg x 10 reps
  • Upright Barbell Row

    • 25 kg x 10 reps
    • 25 kg x 10 reps
    • 25 kg x 10 reps

Not too much strength loss after 7 weeks without pressing a barbell, so that was fine. I just kept putting weight on until I figured I couldn’t manage 8 reps any longer. The cruddy part is that I have to clean the bar every time, which is not the optimal starting point for OHPs, but oh well, I will live.

Have also determined that El Cheapo will make an outstanding zombie smashing weapon. Just in case.
