Weird, but impressive

Again, how is this any change in Florida?

UK is gonna be a train wreck. It’s unbelievable how late their government reacted + their health care system is among the worst in Europe in terms of readiness for an epidemic.
I really, really hope I’m wrong but that’s what the predictions currently say.

Stay safe friends in the UK! Well and everywhere else of course.

Meanwhile the Australian government sits back saying, you ain’/t seen nothing yet…

I could somewhat understand that governments and people were laid back and didn’t do much when this virus was in China. Any hesitation past that point is reckless. Like how can you look at what happens in south Europe and still sit back and say ā€œah maybe it’s not gonna be that bad hereā€

Because our current federal government is very, very bad. It has no vision and no care for anything except big business. Luckily, state governments are showing much better leadership.

Stats from Italy. Florida might be in the same boat.

Day C+11

Haven’t gone outside yet, but it is another sunny (but cold) day, so it is tempting. Did another pretend leg day today, more Bouncy Air Squats, regular air squats with slow ups and downs, lunges from one end of the house to the other, etc. Tried some of those single leg moves @Frank_C posted a while back, those are tough. Didn’t do more than one set per side, because it was at the end and, well, was tired at that point. Will work more on these, my balance sux on single leg stuff. Gave Bob a rough-housing. Lots more kicking today. Doubling, tripling, quadrupling and even quintupling up on the kicks like some kind of insane ninja person. That’s what I tell myself, anyway.

I am still kind of looking around at some weights…I can do a lot without, but I dislike being unable to do some of the basics. Could get a pair of adjustable DBs for about 600 dollars (32,5 kg each), or even a decent set of an olympic bar and weights (128 kg total) for about 500. I could do a lot with either of those, even without a bench or rack. I dunno, I am of two minds here. Don’t really want a full home gym, but also kinda wish I had more to work with than what I have now (next to nothing). Argh. Could always resell.

I got my adjustable DBs from Wal Mart. $200 or $220 for 5-100 lbs. The only down side is that they’re the ones with threads and collars so switching from one weight another isn’t fast.

No walmart here in socialist mecca (DK), that 500 dollar set is literally the cheapest one I have found so far.

Yep, that’s us.

I think our government reacted pretty quickly, however they still seem to believe that the majority of people will do the right thing without being told, which is a very bizarre belief. Just as a quick example: Mount Snowdon, had more visitors yesterday than at any point on record. People just following advice, you think? Outside? Keeping a safe distance? Getting exercise? Sounds good until you realise they were literally queueing to get up the mountain. The exact opposite of what they’d been told to do.

I figured you’d have some comparable store.

There are places to get all kinds of cheap junk, but when it comes to things like DBs, it seems everyone thinks 30 or 40 pounds is good enough. One possibility is just to buy double up on some cheapies (the threaded ones like you mention) and consolidate the plates, but that will probably limit them to 60 pounds or so, while still costing more than I’d like.

I’ve found this so weird, apparently people were queuing at our local dump for 2 hours and people are ramming our beaches full. I’ve lived where I am for most of my life, no one bothers going to the beach in March even when it’s sunny.

People are flocking to do stuff they don’t normally do, just because they might not be able to do the thing that they wouldn’t have done in the first place?! People so weird/mentally deficient.

I am getting to a point in my head where I think we should just let people assemble in those place if they so desperately want to. And then launch tomahawk missiles at them.

Might wipe out the virus!

Whereabouts in the UK are you?

Cornwall! What about you?

Brighton area. A long way from Cornwall. I got excited when I heard UK and beach.

Haha, yes a fair way away. We’ve got the joy of second home owners doing their isolation in the mini mansions down here! How are the beaches and general stupid behaviour in Brighton?
