Weird, but impressive

Nah, it is more a hip thruster. It only accidentally becomes a skull crusher if you thrust too hard.

Also, running for today…interval is, of course, even harder, but app lady tossed in a 5 min walk before the very last run. Which was excessive. I find I need maybe half the rest times she is giving me, which is a good sign.

26 minutes (no warmup or cooldown)
4.28 km
18 minutes actual running (5-8-5)

6.04 for the pace, which is fine when I consider that 8 minutes of walking was too much.

Get some thick mats. Problem solved

What problem would that solve? I have it sitting up on blocks before I thrust it. Works fine up to about 100 kilo.

Failing safely, going heavy without stressing the back. If the mats are so high, that they prevent you getting crushed by the bar when lying underneath and not high enough that the plates connect when you press.

You are a machine. Good work there!

What type of machine are we talking here, like one of those useless kitchen machines that no one ever uses, maybe a spiralizer?

Because these are floor presses, I don’t really feel those dangers are present. The weight is not heavy enough to be that dangerous, and the elbows touching the ground provides enough clearance to easily roll out of it anyway, you just swivel the weight forward onto your stomach and then roll it forward until it is back on the blocks. That is in fact how I ā€œre-rackā€ the weight, and I can do it with every plate I have on the bar. The only danger is overthrusting when getting into position, but I learned how to avoid that one.

I wanted to come back with something witty about a manly kitchen machine, but I cannot think of a single one. Air fryer?

How about one of those hammers you use to flatten Schnitzels? Would make you more of a tool than machine but close enough.

Lockdown Day 72. Still no abs.

Just running today. Mean app lady wants me to do 8 minutes of run, a 5 minute walk and another 8 minute run. Getting serious now.

21 minutes (no warmup or cooldown)
3.6 km
16 minutes actual running (8-8)

5.50 on the pace. The run felt pretty easy, except for probably the last 3 minutes, but I had a faster pace on the second interval I think.

She’s turning into a bit of a bitch isn’t she? I used to like her.

Yeah, back when it was run for 1 minute and then walk for 2 minutes I was like, hey, we might just get along nicely. That’s how they get their claws in you.
