I think that, paradoxically, one of the reasons I am decent at pressing is because I refuse to accept that it should be so difficult. I suppose I am comparing myself to…myself. So I am perpetually disappointed because I manage to convince myself that it isn’t really that heavy and that I should be able to do more.

Bench day. Changed this day up as well, no TM and no Incline. Since I did AMRAP on press the other day, figured I should give it a go on decline today. I probably shoulda started lighter, this hurt like balls. And the cardio sets gave me noodle arms after just the first set. I forgot how much harder this is than TM.

Hit 210 without too much trouble, but probably pushing my luck. On the plus side, in the area of the gym I am working with these big ass bumper plates, I can literally not put more weight on the bar, would have to go work in the other area with normal sized stuff. Also maxed out the trap bar, although that was actually in the place with the smaller plates. We have two different trap bars, and the both have oddly short sleeves.

Dedicated pulling day, plus some arm work. Been a long time since I did one like this, and it showed. Harder than it shoulda been, but I don’t care much because this is not really in my focus right now. Really just trying to work the muscles anyway. On the other hand, my old elbow joints seem to be slowly getting better, so I can actually start doing more direct biceps work without much pain. Well, other than the pain of being embarrassingly terrible at direct biceps work. Whoever invented biceps is a dick.

Really strange day today. Feeling all broken down all day, achy lower back and even a hip bugging me. I was going to go in and just do some light squatting, had no plan other than to avoid doing any actual volume. Succeed in that much, at least.
