Weird, but impressive

That would because it is! But I know what you mean, overhead just seems to go from manageable to absolutely no way in 0.5kg and no warning.

Also congrats on being strong!

Yeah, the two attempts I made at 120 - after quite convincingly managing 115, were like trying to push through a brick wall. Felt like a mile away. That said, I am attacking the sub max range a bit, maybe I will give it a go again in a few weeks.

Meh, just kinda sorta, but thanks.

My issue is probably my legs, but 185 might as well have been a car today. I can do jerks with it but push press is out… and the jerks are behind the neck which is noticeably different than regular.

There’s something about the dip. When you think the weight is heavy it feels like it’s going to crush you when you try to reverse the motion.

Damn… Just do a meet already ahahah!

Yup, pretty much. My reasoning for working on my squat is to improve my dip so that I can improve my push press. And I do that so that I can improve my strict press. And I do that because eventually it will make all the ladies swoon.

I recognize these as words, but do not take their meaning, lol.

Yeah I forgot a word ahahah

That was what I thought when I saw your rack pull session. Your numbers are amazing, you could go powerlifting ezzzz

I can’t do powerlifting, because I would need to get super fat and also start caring about technique and stuff.

Yeah, screw that. I don’t need people telling me I’m moving the weight wrong.

I figure if you move enough weight, there is no such thing as wrong.

It’s funny that a sport is picky with how you move the weight but will also let you wear clothes that help you move the weight.

You sure my man? What height were those deadlifts? Overall weight is a pretty big factor for cns fatigue.

Height is just a bit below the knee. This was relatively low volume. You are right that it is a big factor, but I stopped myself short of going overboard.

Same ROM as his squats !!:joy:

Is that a dig at my height? Because, yeah, probably.

Na, I am a manlet like @guineapig so can’t talk about height.

As mentioned before, still thinking about next steps for the squat, e.g. continue TM, go back to AMRAP or something else entirely. In the meantime, just went to squat today with a mind to not do anything fancy and just take it a bit easy. Which I mostly did, wasn’t feeling particularly strong anyway.

  • Barbell Squat

    • 60 kg x 5 reps
    • 70 kg x 3 reps
    • 80 kg x 2 reps
    • 100 kg x 2 reps
    • 120 kg x 1 reps
    • 130 kg x 1 reps
    • 140 kg x 1 reps
    • 150 kg x 1 reps
    • 100 kg x 22 reps
  • Pull-Up

    • 8 reps
    • 8 reps
    • 8 reps

Been a while since I tried a widowmaker at 100, so why not? Because it sucks, that’s why not.

Some work from yesterday. Did a 531 AMRAP style session for Press. Not sure I am going to keep doing it, just wanted to do something different. And test out reps at 70.

    • Standing Barbell Shoulder Press (OHP)

      • 30 kg x 5 reps
      • 40 kg x 5 reps
      • 50 kg x 3 reps
      • 52 kg x 5 reps
      • 60 kg x 5 reps
      • 70 kg x 12 reps (rep PR)
      • 52 kg x 10 reps
      • 52 kg x 10 reps
      • 52 kg x 10 reps
      • 52 kg x 10 reps
      • 52 kg x 10 reps
    • Muscle-Up

      • 1 reps
      • 2 reps
    • Upright Barbell Row

      • 60 lb x 10 reps
      • 60 lb x 10 reps
      • 60 lb x 10 reps
      • 60 lb x 10 reps
      • 60 lb x 10 reps
    • Handstand Push-Up

      • 5 reps
      • 5 reps

12 at 70 is a rep PR, and yet somehow felt underwhelming. Meh, I dunno. Can’t figure out what my motivation is any more.
