Any good websites to buy a dip belt cheap from
like 25 bucks
Just curious, but do gyms usually provide a dip belt or is it something you buy and bring to the gym…because my gym doesn’t have them.
my gym doesnt have one…i see lots of gyms with out a belt for lifting either…might as well buy one so you know youve always got it when u need it
Hmmm…I will. I’m doing WS4SB and I do bodyweight dips on my Rep. day. However, when I build up my strength I’ll probably get the belt and start doing weighted dips on my ME day.
If you have just a regular belt and a small chain or something you can make one
you can just pick one up at any big sporting goods store, price wise they might be a few bucks more tho, overall after shipping when i looked they all seemed to end up being around $20, i got mine with a coupon from sports authority shipped for like $22.
I used the weight belt with a chain and a clip for a while. after a while the buckle on the belt will start to bend a bit, plus stuff gets kinda close to the family jewels… for $20 something just get a dip belt, its worth it.
www.elitefts.com is currently having a sale on belts. Higher quality then a $20 belt I would assume.
I’ve used my Ironmind belt for at least five years. No chain, so it doesn’t look quite as cool, but very sturdy.
APT has a good selection:

Get your own: You will likely use it more regularly, also for chins and pull-ups.
You can find anything on there for pennies on the dollar.

Here’s what I use, I believe it’s stronger, safer, and more flexible than a dip belt:
Take a regular old Valeo leather lifting belt available at any sporting goods store.
Fasten it around your hips instead of around your torso, as you would a belt that holds your pants up. It goes around your hips because it will be bearing weight.
Take a cam-style (not ratchet style!)motorcycle nylon tie-down strap and loop the cargo-end hook around the entire front of the leather belt. The hook attaches to itself (the nylon of the strap, not to the belt).
Now you should have a tie-down strap looped completely around the lifting belt, with a hook and adjustment strap hanging in front of you. You should be able to pull the adjustment strap to shorten the strap.
Now you can use any size dumbbell. Just attach the hook to the handle of the dumbbell. No worries about plates dangling between your legs. You can change the length with the adjustment strap.
I haven’t seen anything on the market that works better than this.
Go buy like 4-6 feet of chain and a clip or two.
