I bet if T-Nationers entered this with all the know-how that we have I bet that we could have all of the top ten easy.

There’s tv program here in Hawai’i called NRG Television that has the same kind of “contest”. It’s called 98-Day challenge where you improve your image, fitness, and personality. The prize being a Mercedes.
I didn’t think it was gonna be that bad until I checked out information of the PT training the contestants and the nutritional guidelines to be followed. While the physical training and nutrition are toted on the site to be proven wellness & fitness facts, there’s too much emphasized on the food pyramid, long distance running, and machine work for optimal health.
What got me irritated was that on the PT’s site he states that the core to any resistance training program should be:
Seated Chest Press
Pec Contractor
Icarian Seated Row Machine
Flex Shoulder Press Machine
Leg Extension Machine
Preacher Curl Machine
Cable Pushdowns
I believe something is better than nothing, but I don’t think any of these are core lifts. Core as in the core of a workout, not the commercially described “core” that people do pilates for.
I don’t think I can do something like this for my own sanity and under the code of the T-Nation. The Men’s Health one looks good though.
Oh if any of you wanna check out the site it’s:
To find info on the PT, look under sponsors of the 98 Day Challenge. He’s a nice guy, but I do not agree with his what he supports. Then again I’ve seen some of his clients working out…didn’t think DBs still came in pink and purple.
“turn fat into muscle”
Wow, that really is spectacular…
You took the words out of my mouth, Phoz. That must be some program!
What’s the problem with everybody? I’m sure this new diet based on “revolutionary new weight-loss research” is on the level. I mean, what’s wrong with claiming that fat will turn into muscle? That I’ll sculpt my best physique? That I’ll enjoy spectacular sex? That I’ll have more energy day after day?
And get this: I can have all of that in only SIX WEEKS!! My god, even T-Nation doesn’t promise those kinds of results with their supplements and programs.
And its guaranteed to help me lose my belly, sculpt my abs, and stay lean and healthy for life! FOR LIFE! All for a six-week commitment.
I don’t know about you guys, but I’m joining this program, buying the book, and becoming a brain-washed disciple of David Zinczenko, the Editor-n-Chief of Men’s Health. Why wouldn’t I trust a guy with those kinds of credentials?
Farewell, T-Nation. I don’t need your hogwash about intelligent eating, your successful training programs, or your effective supplements. I’m going to become superman in only six weeks! Maybe five because I’m going to buy some Cortislim from Dr. Craig SemonHead.
And now back to our regularly scheduled intelligent lives.
Did anyone else pick up on that you can’t lose more than 10% of your bodyweight and still be eligible to win? So now your results can be too good and get disqualified? I’ve never seen a contest that disqualified someone based on making progress too fast…
I pesonaly believe everything I read.Someone took the time to write it down and make a production of it.That takes alot of work.Thats why I believe everything I see.I saw a documentary called Matrix once about a guy who plugs his head into a computer! He was also the subject of another documentary Johny Mnemonic. Boy that guy must be smart.
I have to get back to business now.I’m working on an investment opportunity. My realtor calls it “the Brooklin Bridge Project.”!
Turn fat into muscle now thats interesting.

It’s not a bad book. Nothing revolutionary to the folks around here, but if you can’t spell Berardi its not a bad start. The problem with the contest is you can’t take any supplements. Who wants to do that without HOT-ROX, Methoxy-7 and all the other great stuff around here. That’s as bad as becoming a distance runner. I’ll take what I want and buy my own car!
yea but even without all the supps and what not we could all dominate this contest. and of course in the end plug the only mag that matters. (mens health of course!!!) yea right, pussies. if our only competition is the morons who read that mag, then why wouldnt we get a gang of people together and dominate the contest? the whole no supps and only 10% is kind of lame but even still our results would be astounding compared to people unlike us.

Agreed. Maybe Jared (Subway) will enter and he can further enlighten the world.
If the contest is results oriented, then alot of us would lose. I already have the guy in the picture beat on muscle developement, and I’m at 6-7% bf.at 158. So, if I lost 4lbs. of fat I would be at 4-5%bf. Results wise I would get my ass kicked by some fat guy.
And even if I gain another 4 lbs of muscle, I would still get my ass whipped by some fat guy that has alot of room for improvement.
Would they even accept people who are in realy good shape? If they want to illustrate how well their program works, I doubt they would have much use for us.
