Wasting Away!!!

All right, here’s my problem…I had recently been in a bit of a rut with my workouts. I know, its my own fault.

Anyways, in order to get back on track, I started off my back workout with a real heavy set of deadlifts, you know, the kind where your spine does that accordian thing and you end up about two inches shorter. I had a great workout, leaving the gym with my pride and a pain in my abdomen.

To make a long story short, the Doc crushed my hopes of my newly acquired lump being a third testicle, and scheduled me for hernia surgery in two months.

I’m not supossed to lift anything until my surgery or for who knows how long afterwards. Does anyone have any suggestions other than “listen to the doctor”?

IF surgery is necessary, the sooner you do it the better. 2 months is a long layoff and you’ll be in worse shape then than now.
I had shoulder surgery several years ago and was scheduled 7 weeks out.
I asked to be wait-listed for any cancellations. My surgery was done 10 days later - multiple cancellations.

After your surgery, post here about post-surgery recovery tips.

Hey Major, your advice is well recieved and greatly appreciated. I was told that I might be able to get in sooner if there were cancellations.
This thing is just really trying my patience. I’m seriously considering shoving it back in, fashioning some sort of girdle out of an extra small jock strap or speedo, and heading back to the gym.
