Want to Be Like Frank Zane

I personally aspire to be like Dorian Yates, but that’s just me.

OP, why don’t you simply admire yourself for putting the work to be your best self? Who knows, maybe after a couple of years of lifting, you’ll find yourself looking into the mirror and thinking “Holy shit, Zane can kiss my ass, I look so much better than him”. Just a thought.
wow, man you just really inspired me, ur so f*cking right. Am gonna do just that

If you want real advice, post your diet and best lifts (not just in the big three, but a range of exercises - preferably compounds and isolation exercises to act as identifiers for those muscle groups).

X thankxz, you know your stuff. About half assing my way, dude you have no idea how hard i suffered, im in nigeria, nobody gives a fuck if i look like frank zane or if i look like rick ross or snoop dogg, only my mum supports me and weights down here are EXPENSIVE, i improvise, i use my money to buy my own food, i research every day and i consider myself quite knowledgeable, am asking you all cause you guys are more experiencd…my own goals are simply to be the best, i train five times a week, i use five sets of eight reps, train two muscles in a day, four exercises for each muscle and train each muscle twice a week. I practice sprinting, cycling and boxing. Rogue vampire i took these pics with a phone camera so im considerably reduced and smoothened out, i weigh about 145, i was 120 before. Once again, you guys are all very helpfull
Then I apologize for saying you “half assed” it…but the truth is, you could likely have made way more progress than you did for no other reason than your own perception of your goals and what exactly it will take to reach them.

One more thing…someone using steroids doesn’t remove the work they put in. Also, most people on the planet don’t have the drive to even reach the size of Cap America…let alone look like Zane did in his 20’s.

This shit you are getting into doesn’t happen overnight, and whether natural or not, base your judgment on what has actually been accomplished.

For the record, most kids your age probably can’t spell “amino acid” or put things together the way you did in the nutrition forum (even though your conclusion is off). For right now, you have my respect.

Prof x, thank you…and again my phone kind of smoothens me out and makes me smaller…u mean the tryptophin thing? Well i read in an article that frank buys tryptohphon as a supplement and it helps him take up to three naps a day, and chocolate is very high in tryptophon so i guess i just…

You weren’t even wrong about the chocolate.

It is just that there is a big difference between “chocolate” and cocoa.

my diet is basically just lots of ‘suya’ traditional cow meat, i eat up to fifty pieces of meet a day, milk, yam, eggs(i prefered fried and taken with noodles), bean cakes, chicken(not that much), i eat lots of fruits, nuts, chocolate milk(usually after workouts), some other traditional foods that involve grains, vegetables, meat and fish. Etc i plan meals day by day depending on how much i have (i buy most of what i eat, suya is cheap though, thank God)…u guys can probably tell that my nutrition and diet is a bit confused, so lets just say God’s hands are involved…maybe i did half ass it and God just helped me make gains

oooooh…could you shed more light on that please

If the suya is pretty lean, you aren’t doing bad at all, kid.

How much do you weigh now?

and how many grams or pounds of suya are we talking about?

I made my post in that thread to get you to think about the outcome.

You were right…but do you really want to be eating Hershey bars all day?

Lol, good point. O.k, now i see i look quite small in that pic. Is a phone camera good for bodybuilding photography?
And also rate me from that pic, be as honest as you can

You have above average ab development and you are naturally lean with small bone structure. You may or may not have the genes to get really wide. You are too young for anyone to know that.

I can say I was smaller than you at 16…WAAAAAY SMALLER.

I want to see you blow people away in 3 or 4 years (if that long).

Just take pictures INfrequently and give yourself time.

I won’t rate your muscle growth because you already know what I think.

POUNDS AND POUNDS OF SUYA.

people who know me personally tell me that I’m big, I don’t need to get any bigger etc. yet I am much smaller than the big guys here. when people who know you compliment your build, appreciate it, say thank you, but know that this is relative… just because you’re bigger/more muscular/have built more muscle in some months than your average Nigerian teenager doesn’t mean that you are actually big.

leave that assessment for people who have experience in this lifestyle.

Honestly those are some pretty nice abz. What’s your Squat, bench and deadlift? I’m 16 as well by the way!

Guys, T Nation has so much influence now that it reached Nigeria.

OP, you have amazing genetics, getting to that size from improvised eating/lifting. based on what i’ve read, you need to save yourself some money and find a gym so you can do some real weightlifting. All the best!

i respect your opinion bro, all im saying is i wish you guys could access me in person cause the pictures are not reliable. Oh and nigerians have pretty good genetics, iv seen guys in thier sixties who work as labourers at building sites, all shredded to the bone, clear abs, like a mr olympia contestant…a friend of mine has this big build, and i used to be the smallest amongst all my friends, now they basically ask me to train them…am not saying am at the top, just saying i can show you all my stats through crappy fone pix…for instance i know for a fact i have nice traps that tie in well with my pec and delts…but you will never be able to see that through this stupid camera…its an x2 and it kind of filters the light after the shot, making me real smooth

thanks bro, you’re very right, once we travelled to calabar, we were staying in a hotel and the gym was free for inhouse members…i was there everyday, we were there for about five days for xmas(just last year) dad was spoiling us and i was eating a whole damn lot, i know it sounds crazy but i was weighing myself on a daily basis and i was gaining something everyday, i was 134 by the time we arrived and by the time we left i was 138.
And about T nation reaching nigeria, well contrary to popular belief africans dont spend all thier free time in huts, fighting aids, running around naked and making clicking sounds(thats my attempt at humor am not offended or anything)…but you guys are pretty big(t nation)…im thinking of entering hollywood in d future so i wanted to build some star sex appeal before hand
