WannaBe’s Last Year Of “DYEL?”

I wish that was the case. More dedicated than ever for muscle growth. Even cut work load at work.
Only thing that’s changing is the notch I use on my weight belt and the amount of anger I feel when I see myself in the mirror.

You’re too hard on yourself! I was just joking!

You were lookin’ fuckin’ Huge last time I saw you!

Also, looking at the logs, everybody cool weighs about 220 lately. That’s fun.

Thanks man

Really struggling with this program. The work is easy, I don’t even feel like it’s that much but I just can’t recover.

Libido is down, constantly feel wore out, joints hurting, strength slowly trending the wrong way, appetite is down big time.
Really makes me sad.

Right now I’m doing Monday/Tuesday and Thursday/Friday. Trying to decide if I should cut back the volume, switch to a one on one off set up, or a mix of both. It’s really disheartening because I already feel like I’m not going as hard as I want and can but i just don’t get the sleep I need to recover.

not hitting like.

sorry to read this, hope you get it sorted.

Officially quitting bulking efforts. Plan was originally to go hard till the end of December but I went on call last week and worked a lot in the rain and got pretty sick. Haven’t worked out in a week and planning on this Monday to be my first day back in the gym. Just really tired of force feeding and results, I don’t think 4 weeks will do anything.

Pros:
Up 20lbs
Completed BBB beef cake
Completed Building the monolith
Completed triumvirate
Half way through 5x5-5/3/1

Cons:
Not much stronger
A lot fatter
Arms didn’t gain a cm
Legs down 1” yet fatter
No indicators of muscle growth
Only comments I’ve received from people are about fat gain which lines up with the mirror.

Man, who the fuck is telling you that you look fatter?

Been a few people. The last one was the lady who cuts my hair. She was trying to paint it in an endearing manner, as in it’s a sign of a healthy relationship.
Just part of it I guess but it’s just been one of the many pains along the way lol

Sounds like you need…

You know you love it!

I appreciate the offer but this is the last thing I need. I’ve proven year after year I’m not capable of making changes in any direction. No need to put it on public display again

From what ive seen i dont think this is entirely true, you may be being a bit too down on yourself.

Man, and I thought I was hard on myself!!

I agree with the above, your inner voice is kind of being a dick to you…

Probably a little too hard on myself but facts are facts and it looks like I spent a good bit of time gaining fat, and nothing else. The only measurements that went up are fat areas like waist. Even cut back on leg work to try and hopefully give my upper body more incentive to grow, lost an inch on the legs.

Then you are in a good place to make a transformation.

You are the most interesting X-man if you got through both BBB Beefcake and Building the Monolith, increased your TM through both programs, progressed from a state of barely surviving week 3 to surviving week 6 on both, and got SMALLER muscles at the end.

If that’s happening, I’d get it looked at, if that’s possible. It’s unique, if nothing else, to be getting stronger while experiencing atrophy.

Legs did get smaller, didn’t see any growth in other areas minus fat.

I upped the TM’s on every program every 3 weeks.

Not sure what the barley surviving week 3 comment was in reference to. Maybe one of the latest posts about really struggling with a program? If so that was about the 5x5 5/3/1. It’s been super hard on my joints and can’t seem to recover from the “heavy” sets

What I’m saying there is that, if your TM was right when you started those programs, when you got to week 3 you should have barely made it through, and then, over the course of the next 3 weeks, managed to surpass THAT performance with your week 6 performance, which is typically a clear indication of growth. Going through all of that, getting stronger, and experiencing atrophy is incredibly unique.

Idk what to tel you man. I tested my 1rm’s for those lifts and used his 85% TM protocol. Hell I even lied a little bit on incline bench just because I was sad it had gotten so low.
Ive Gotten stronger from where I was strength wise when starting the programs, but I haven’t surpassed where I’ve been before so maybe that’s it.
I could also be choosing poor accessories or something. No idea. Only thing I know is the mirror hasn’t improved and the few areas I was keeping track of with a tape measure didn’t change in a positive way.
