You don’t need to tell me anything at all dude. I’m saying this is really unique. If it were happening to me, I’d talk with a medical professional.
I 100% believe you that this is happening. You have no incentive to lie. I am saying that this is incredibly unique. One does not tend to observe a human growing in strength while experiencing atrophy.
I don’t want to speculate as to WHAT this could mean: just observing that it’s very atypical.
Yeah i read some of your previous posts. Sounds like it hasnt been going as well as you had hoped. Hope it turns around. It was cold as fuck today here too. 7 degrees last night and -8 heat index and im in north texas which is weird as fuck.
That weather sucks. We escaped buffalo for Florida on the last flight before the airport shut down. My neighbor sent me a pic of six feet of snow in front of my house. Hopefully it’s mostly gone by next weekend when I return.
Have a great holiday man. Hope your able to get back to it in the new year. Cheers
Happy continuation! How is your status/balance between excercise, sleep/rest, diet and stress in life?
Myself being a stressed out hard working family man with sleep deprivation - but still make slow, steady progression physically. How about applying a more defensive approach in the gym? I often talk about and recommend two full body workouts a week - because it has served me well during the above mentioned limitations.
That being said - Have you ever tried a basic Darden full body HIT program twice weekly? I know this is like cursing in the church, but considering you’ve previously tried some sophisticated programs (with in your terms not enough rewarding) - Why not try something different? I strongly believe in basic solutions. The different stimulus may even break your plateau (and provide enough balance between stimulus and recovery).
Without knowing more about your situation, it seems most likely a recovery issue. Please correct me if I’m wrong.
I’ve always had a decent amount of stress, but who doesn’t. Sleep is my main issue. I’ve tried every suppliment protocol under the sun, sleep
Study and everything in between. I just have bad sleep issues and have for years. I’ve greatly reduced my workload to 3/4 days a week and taking more un planned off days if I feel I need it.
I’ll have to google that darden routine and see what it is. I haven’t been a fan of much I’ve seen with his name attached but I haven’t seen that one.
101% correct. Tempted to try HGH in low doses just to see if that makes me sleep deeply.
The Darden routine I was referring to is actually found in his “The new HIT” book from early 00-ish. An interesting read, a basic template for a routine and probably a cheap investment.
Got stranded for a week thanks to southwest. Bright side was I got a week pass to a big gym and found out just how much I miss real equipment. Still not walking correctly from my ever so faithful hack squat machine.
Been dealing with the headache of buying a house as well. Supposed to close on the 12th but having some deed issues with some of the land that’s comes with it, so that’s fun. Trying to deal with lawyers now to find out how to fix it.
If everything goes through I’ll have a 30x40 insulated shop (gym) with heat and (small) AC!
Really hope everything goes as planned and we get it. As soon as we do a few projects around the house I plan to start buying new gym equipment to fill it up. Row machine, lat machine, hack squat, cable tower, smith machine… the works.
Also trying to get everything ready for the wedding in March which is another headache and financial burden lol
To close at all lol. We may back out if we can’t get the property thing situated. It was the land and shop that really sold us on the house. Really hope it works out though.
Edit: but yes, on time is important too as we are at the end of our locked in time for the interest rates and rates have gone up even more. So potentially the house and thousands of dollars on the line . Shame I was too stupid to buy when it was 2.5% like every other sane person.
My training is suffering from all the house work we are doing, but I did just buy a smith machine and old school chest supported row (stack!) machine!
Super pumped to slowly add some things.
In other news, I’ve used so much sheet rock mud that I’ve now bought it in 5 gallon buckets.
