Walking/Hiking Impact on Muscle?

On the weekends I like to do long hikes upwards of 8-10 miles. In your opinion at what point do u think would be too much?

If the intensity level is fairly low (you are not getting out of breath and you don’t feel drained at the end) I honestly do not see any problem with this.

The only (minor) issue is that it might make you fall into a caloric deficit, in which case you will have to increase food intake to compensate for the additional activity level.
