His “upper shelf” is ridiculous.

Nice term there, where’d ya hear that?
But I agree. Vic Richards is definitely one of my Top 5 bodybuilders. Quite enjoy hearing the bits about his view on unecessary uber-dieting too. If a few more people went into the lifestyle with that mindset it might do them some good and produce much better results. Shrug

Okay, maybe it’s just me, but I prefer Vic’s physique to Ronnie’s in this pic
Look at how little space his obliques take on his frame and how MUCH space his abs take, compared to Ronnie’s massive obliques and tiny abs. (this is by comparison of course, his abs are big)
Now look at Vic’s Cows and compare them to Ronnie’s Calves.
Might just be his posing, but Ronnie’s chest looks very flat whereas Vic’s looks like he has two massive slabs of meat hanging from his shoulders/clavicles.
Vic also doesn’t seem to be flaring his adductors to increase leg size, whereas Ronnie is. Pure quad thickness.
That’s just what I see. Sure, Ronnie might have a lower BF%, but that doesn’t do much for him IMO when put beside Vic.
Wow that 16 pic is unreal. I know he has admitted to using AAS several times, but does anyone know when he started? I can’t imagine him starting that young, but god damn it just doesn’t seem possible for that to be natural. In my opinion, he probably has the best genetics I’ve ever seen, and looks so much more natural looking then the mass monsters of today like Coleman.

Some good points here. But when it comes to traps and especially lats, there is no comparison. Yates’ back was so much bigger than Vic’s and even Dorian was overshadowed by what Coleman brought to the table.

- Contest ready vs 16 weeks out condition explains the chest.
- Ronnie isn’t even flexing his quads. NO ONE has bigger legs than ronnie.
- you can’t even see ronnie’s calves in that picture lol wut

does anyone have numbers for this monster? not necessarily bench, squat, and dead but Im sure this man has some amazing strength feats? nice to see him next to my all time fav bodybuilder samir bannout haha. the camaraderie between bb’ers back then was very cool.

****every sportman hate politics in the sport.
Also, the time at which he was coming up was still racially heated to some degree with talk of some bodybuilders getting more exposure or even winning more contests because they were white. I am not writing that to get into a debate, that is simply the way things were…
***Prof,
the Thing born in 1964.
Lee Haney (black) won his first MO in 1984 and then each year until 1991.
Vic was 20 when Haney Kingdom started and 28ys old when Yates (white) Kingdom started.
so if a BLACK guy like Haney won 8 Mr Olympia (in the 80s) why are you saying that there was racism in BB during the 80???
.
said this,Vic is huge with line and simmetry, alien dna, and it has been a real shame don’t see him on the stages.
btw, for a simple bb amateur like me it doesn’t matter because He is a great.

What the fuck. That guy at 18 is INSANE!
Good bump.
Wait…did Mr. Butt test him?
He looks to be way past his Butt Limit at the age of 18 and we just can’t have that now can we?
The dude looks in seriously good shape these days. I also like his honest discussions on steroid use (although he refuses to get too specific from what I have read).
However, without wanting to detract from this thread (which is about a very good BB), how can you make that comment unless you actually know the guy and have had a honest answer about when his steroid use started? Yes ok, we have established that genetics dictate BB potential and Butt ‘may’ be talking ballshit, but a heck of a lot of experienced people say many of his late teen shots have some bloating going on (he’s not 8% either). So yes, he may be past his limit on Butt’s scale, but is he all-natural even at that age?
As I say, looking good though.

??
Vic Richards was way bigger than Mr Butt at the age of 15. If you want to go through life believing you can blame that on steroids, so be it. I don’t know or care if he was all natural at the age of 18. What I do know is he has better genetics than most humans on the planet but guys like you seem to still be trying to put some limit on it.
This guy was over 300lbs long before gh was being used as a fashion statement which is fucking unheard of.
Why are we even discussing Mr. Butt right now? How old is the post you just quoted?
According to interviews Vic was 210lbs-215lbs aged 15, before he even touched a weight. Both his parents were in the medical profession. Now, either you accept that Butt’s formulae do not apply to genetic freaks, or you have to come up with an explanation that involves a 15/16 year-old kid being on steroids. Good luck with that.
